November 24, 200916 yr HEllo there..I read some posts here covering some issues I want tto ask you about.First of all night is too light in FS9. Can it be more darker? And when I fly at night I see the water blue, almost light blue... Can I change that?Is there an addon?I use Windows Vista..Thanx for some replies. Artur Scholl
November 25, 200916 yr Hello, it depends which textures you are using for night sky and water. Default one and the one that came with a Flight Environment, look like "old movie" to me, thats why night isn't much night. I suggest you to look for a "hde_1.0.zip", here on avsim or flightsim. Its High Definition Environment, you got with it, clouds that are HD, and sky textures for all time of the day. And yeah, night is pitch black as it should be.Hope this help, cheers! My Specification: I CAN RUN FSX IN MAX SETTINGS....i don't care about dell, bell, amd, intel, 60000 wats power supply or alien made graphic card....
November 26, 200916 yr Author HiThanx for the tip... Allthough I couldn't find the file on avsim nor on flightsim.Question numer two .. If I have AVS 6 Weather engine .. do I need to override clouds there ???Thank you Artur Scholl
November 26, 200916 yr My night is pitch black after properly adjusting contrast/brightness and color on my monitor...Pitch Black with clear stars and you can see the spots on the moon :)-P Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
November 27, 200916 yr My night is pitch black after properly adjusting contrast/brightness and color on my monitor...Pitch Black with clear stars and you can see the spots on the moon :)-PAnd for night flying that is the only way to go: adjust contrast, brightness and/or Gamma as -P mentioned. Now "brightness" and "contrast" come in 2 flavors:1. your monitor's;2. your video drivers; My personal recipe is to adjust the LCD monitor brightness at maximum (it is called "Game" on the Samsung I use) and apply a little bit of brightnesswith "hot keys" which come with Nvidia drivers "nView". Oh and finally, I close the lights in the room and adjust the angle of the monitor so that I get the bestviewing angle. (viewing angles for LCD are very sharp and it becomes quite noticeable when you do night flying).PierreNight Flyer Pierre I9 14900K 5.5 64gb ram 6800 RTX5090 Asus Strix Gaming E
