November 26, 200916 yr HiJust wondering if anyone knows if there is: A. Any way to change the default Real Weather from reading Jeppesen data to anything else? B. If so, what is the most frequently and accurately updated alternative? Thanks
November 26, 200916 yr You can't change FS's own data source, but there are a few payware external weather engines out there. If you grab a copy of Real Environment Xtreme 2, you get a pretty decent weather engine included as well as those beautiful textures. If you want to tweak weather settings to your heart's content try Active Sky Advanced. You'll never get perfect real-life weather in FSX but you can get a pretty good rendition with either of the above. :(

November 26, 200916 yr I already have REX2 but that doesn't auto-update, nice as it is. Just looking to see if the default auto-updating weather can be improved upon as Jeppesen seems to be a little out of date

November 26, 200916 yr REX updates by units of distance rather than time, which can have it's disadvantages.ASA can be set to update every 5-30 mins (default=10).From reading an old review of FSMeteo, it would appear to update every 6 mins.
