As I was reading the thread I was thinking I'd have to do same- but sometimes it is hard to find that kind of time.When we get similar complaints to this at support@ on both the MD-11 and the 744, it is generally because the user is selecting a STAR/RWY combination that in the real world has either an extended transition segment OR an extended VECTORS segment in the middle...
