November 28, 200916 yr I have to confess that I've not read the full review yet, although I've now logged several dozen hours in it so I know it's the usual PMDG excellence. But...I'm going to be one of those annoying geeky people and point out that neither British Airways nor British Midland now fly this aircraft. British Airways did fly either the JS41 or 31, but I'm not aware that British Midland ever did. Petraeus

But...I'm going to be one of those annoying geeky people and point out that neither British Airways nor British Midland now fly this aircraft. British Airways did fly either the JS41 or 31, but I'm not aware that British Midland ever did.I got the info from Wikipedia, I must confess... There always seem to be errors in there, and that's why I elect not to use it for any articles and papers I have to hand in for university stuff. For as far as I understand though, British Midland did operate them. At least, I went with the assumption that initially, PMDG would not do any "fake" repaints for the J41, and British Midland is in their livery list. I confess I could not find this aircraft model listed at airfleets when I searched for it when I did the review.Concerning British Airways, it took me a long time to find it, but eventually I did find somewhere that they do operate the J41, or at least used to operate them. I can't recall what it said about the present state. To be honest, I'm not inclined to send in remarks to Robert to change this, because of the sheer amount of work he already has editing existing reviews. I hope you don't mind... It's the rest of the review that is the most important part. If you find any errors there that are sufficiently big, mention them and I'll see what I can do! November 28, 200916 yr Excellent review, though I don't agree with the view about 2D panels being claustrophobic. ;) Still, while I miss them I accept the PMDG J41 was never intended to have them. One technical point. The IAS mode in the J41 autopilot is no different from the IAS mode in any autopilot. It's always a pitch mode to hold airspeed, thus adjusting thrust will affect climb or descent rate. MSFS's inaccurate default autopilot has led simmers to believe the IAS mode is purely an autothrottle mode. One other thing, despite the remarks in the open paragraph, the J41 is not the first PMDG sim which is not a jetliner. They produced a couple of Beechcraft 1900 sims a few years ago. The J41 follows in those footsteps, as well as being a technology prototype for future development.Kevin

This was my first encounter with it. That's why I thought of it as something special, but I might be mistaken. At least, it's the first plane with which so much attention got into the IAS mode, that it at least appeared to be something special...Yes, you are right about the Beechcraft. However, the J41 is the first seriously simulated turboprop that PMDG did. I always understaood the VBeechcraft to be a more simplistic model with relatively simple system simulation. That puts the J41 in a completely different class. But, in essence, you are right. And thanks :-) Glad you liked the review!
