December 5, 200916 yr Hi Guys, i opened threads for every single repaint i've done so far and its kind of unhandy, so i'll start a new topic with my whole collection of repaints. I'll keep this thread up to date with my repaints. And here we go:1. Austrian Arrows>>> DOWNLOAD <<<Remarks: none2. Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia>>> DOWNLOAD <<<Remarks: none3. Northstar Aviation>>> DOWNLOAD <<<Remarks: This was a request Paint for Private-Cowboy. I'm not really happy with it, to be honest. But i'll post it - so probably some of you are not too critical about the paints :) The lines are so thin, so i can't ged rid of the step effect. There is stuff in this paint i'm unable to resolve - probably one of you can - i don't. But let's stop this - have fun with it. 4. JEX - JAL Express>>> DOWNLOAD <<<Remarks: none---- Upcoming repaint Plans: KLM Cityhopper----Whenever i do another repaint (and i'm sure i will) i'll post it in here. As always i would really appreciate every kind of feedback to improve my repaints, and of course suggestions for other repaints as well. All the best from Austria, Alexander Roithmair Best regards,
December 6, 200916 yr Hi,Thanks for the Northstar paint. I think it looks quite good. Only if you zoom in closer you can see the steps at the front where the lines curve. That's somthing that you can't overcome though without a higher res textures (like 4096). With what the J41 has given us and the painters this is pretty much as good as it can get. There are some paints that the J41 like more and some that she doesn't. Those very thin lines of the Northstar are indeed problematic to make. The other paints like your JAX or stock paints with straight lines don't suffer from that. But you can only do so much if you're trying to curve a 2 pixel wide line. It will always have jaggies. Higher res textures (like the 4096 A2A uses) limit the effect somewhat but it's even visible there. Nothing you can do about it. It's a very enjoyable paint no matter what.Thank you again for your efforts!!! :(Another paint I'd love to see - if your willing to - would be a fictional with the new United paint. I saw on of the EMB120s the last time I was in the states and I found it looked quite neat on the little commuter. It should be easy to adapt to the J41 and could resemble what UALs J41s would have looked like if the where kept and repainted into the new scheme ...http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6622881Another really cool paint is the one from SkyWest, although I don't know how paintable the bare metal is ...http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=111749And last but not least a really cool Aussie scheme I'd love to fly. It's a J32 though originally but that should be adaptable ...http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/af/VHOTD.JPGhttp://www.panoramio.com/photos/original/16183872.jpg

December 9, 200916 yr Author 5. KLM Cityhopper >>> DOWNLOAD <<<Remarks: Have fun with it. Unfortunately i'm unable to edit my first post (ist that normal after a while to be unable to update own posts??), so i'll add a new post to this. Looks kind of unclear to me, but can't change that. I should start with my webproject - maybe that makes it easier :) ----------------------------------------------@ Private-Cowboy: The United and the Aeropelican Paints are indeed pretty cool - doesn't seem to easy to adapt - but i'll give it a try soon. For the Skywest Airlines - i'm not sure if Jim is already on this paint. Would be a waste to do the same paint twice. @ CathyH: would you mind to link a few pictures of the suggested liveries? -----------------------------------------------All the best, Alex Best regards,
December 9, 200916 yr Author 6. United Airlines>>> DOWNLOAD <<<Remarks: i tried to make the engine nacelles in this glossy chrome as you posted in the image, but unfortunately it wasn't too easy - there is a lot of things i have to learn concerning the alphachannels. Once i figured that out correctly - i'll do a second version of it. But for now you have to live with the blue nacelles :) As always. Feedback is highly appreciated. Best regards, Alex Best regards,
December 10, 200916 yr Hi AlexYes I am trying at the moment to get the SkyWest repaint to an acceptable level where I could let it loose on the world, but at the moment I
December 10, 200916 yr Wow, that United NC looks really cool. Especially the tail with the faiding colors is really nicely done!!! Great work indeed!!! Can't wait till you try out the Aeropelican.
December 10, 200916 yr Author Hi Guys, and another repaint is out of factory :) 7. Aeropelican >>> DOWNLOAD <<<Remarks: one of the toughest paint so far. The tail is really complicated. Its not like the real one - but it is close. Also the lack of High resolution Logos (Vectorgraphics) made it to a challenging process, that took me about 4hours :) Don't strangle me for the Taillogo on the right side of the plane. i haven't found a picture of the JS31 taken from the right side of the plane. Hope you have fun with it.All the best, Alex Best regards,
December 10, 200916 yr Wow, that was fast. I thought I posted a pic from the right side. Here it is again ...http://www.panoramio.com/photos/original/16183872.jpgYou pretty much nailed it anyway. What a great paint. I can hardly believe you just stated painting. Do you have a tip jar? I'd gladly put something in there for all your great works. If I may ask for another repaint (final wish from me as I'm totally happy otherwise now) would be a fictional repaint in RAAF colors featuring the HongKong-Version (the one with additional radar etc). I mean this one ...http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...etstream-41.jpg... which is included by PMDG but in RAAF style colors like ...http://www.airventure.de/aia07/aia07_3/AIA..._Challenger.JPGhttp://www.angelfire.com/electronic/hayles.../challenger.jpgThat would be cool since I haven't flown the Radar-Version because I don't have any HK-Scenery. Would be cool to fly this in RAAF colors down under. Not sure how adaptable it is since the Challenger is "a little bit different" but the color scheme should work on the J41 too. But as said, I'd love to see it with the radar config. Not sure, how that model feature is called since there is no differnt model for that HK version.
December 10, 200916 yr Author Hi Cowboy, once more happy that you like hit (hope you're not the only one :) and thanks for the picture of the right side - my thoughts were correct that they didn't turned the A around on the tail (that looked pretty bad and would destroy the whole painting) . Now to your RAAF request. Indeed it would be possible, once i figure out how to display the plane with the radarbox. The box does not show up in my fsx (with the hong kong livery).Jim already made a paint of the RAAF. But its not exact the paint you're requesting. So I'll check the stuff with the radarbox and give it a try afterwards. Just be a little patient in this case. Best regards,
December 10, 200916 yr Sure, no problem. You're the master painter here. Take your time. I haven't tested the HK paint myself since Asia is not my flying region (no scenery at all for that part of the world). I'd just love to have a "usable" Radar-J41 in my hangar and an Aussie-RAAF would fit in nicely. Surveillance down under so to speak ;-) I'll test the HK paint to see if the radome pops up.Mabye we should spread the word and promote your paints on other sites too. They are just too good to be missed by not looking here. Thanks for your dedication again!!!
December 10, 200916 yr Request for sky express:www.airplane-pictures.net/images/uploaded-images/2009-10/15/65991.jpg
December 11, 200916 yr Author so short on words karaya? - i'll take it into consideration. @Cowboy: in another thread (probably you read about it) the topic about the radarstuff is pretty simple. There is no other choice than replacing the Hong Kong Paint for the RAAF Paint. But i guess thats no big deal for you, as you don't consider to fly in or around hong kong. I already started the painting but a couple of things are not going as i want them to go. i discovered that the lettering "Royal Australian Air Force" is centered to the whole plane. But that Emergency Exits kills the lettering completley - need to find a solution for that. Also i was unable to find an appropriate font for the text - none of mine are fitting properly. But i'll try to get it done. All the best, Alex Best regards,
