July 12, 200322 yr Hi all,On bottom of some panels (working nice in the past) I have a black square (see picture).Don't know if it is since upgrade to XP or new drivers; did some of you know about that?thanksAMD 2400512Mo RAMGeforce4 Ti 4200 128MoDetonator 43.51XPFS2002
July 13, 200322 yr looks like you need to update your graphics drivers and/or winxp files (from the automated response you get every now and then) I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
July 13, 200322 yr A black square about 1 x 1 inches bottom center, is caused when a panel.cfg file declares a window (e.g., Window05=GPS), if there is no subsequent window definition (e.g., {Window05} and subsequent lines defining that window). (note I used braces because of forum format conventions but the file would use square brackets...)This is sometimes caused by gauge installers if they don't work quite right. Have you installed a GPS recently? Or of course you can do it yourself when editing a panel file! You can manually edit the panel.cfg to correct it if you know what you're doing (back it up first just in case...). db
July 13, 200322 yr That was my first thought, but since hermes said it worked in the past ... It's worth a look at the .cfg file. That could be a quick fix but I can't conceive of a window designed to pop up in that position.
July 13, 200322 yr Yup, what Netboyz said is the problem. For some reason, when a window called for in a panel.cfg file goes missing, the black square usually shows up there for some reason, no matter where it is when it is operating correctly. Unzip your panel zip file again and replace the panel.cfg, or if you've made changes and kept your old copy of the cfg file, go looking to see what might be missing. Sometimes changing the cfg file that affects the day portion of the panel will cause this to happen on the night version, and vice versa. I've had a couple of panels that this has happened to, and usually I've been able to find what I accidentally had go missing, but sometimes I have no choice but to rever to the original again. If you've made NO changes at all, try reinstalling the panel, and if that doesn't fix it, email the author - they may or may not know about a problem and have a fix.Glenn

July 13, 200322 yr Back up the appropriate panel.cfg file.Make a new file in that folder named panel.cfg, and paste in the code below.Then change all the "{" and "}" curly brace symbols into appropriate left or right square braces. (the square braces that are probably in your original file already, cause the forum post to delete the lines so we can't see those lines to tell exactly what the problem is. So I've posted with curly braces and you have to change them back.)Try the panel again, and tell us what you see.Here's the code to put into the new panel.cfg file (remember to fix the braces):// This Panel.cfg file created by FS Panel Studio - http://www.fspanelstudio.com// Built Monday, July 29, 2002 at 22:08 FSPS Build:6587Window00=Main PanelWindow01=Radio StackWindow02=gpsFixed Window30=Forward_Right=30Fixed Window31=RearFixed Window32=LeftFixed Window33=UpFixed Window34=Rear_RightFixed Window35=Rear_LeftFixed Window36=RightVIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL,RADIO_STACK_PANEL,gps_panelVIEW_FORWARD_DIR=0.0, 0.0, 0.0VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_WINDOWS=30VIEW_RIGHT_WINDOWS=36VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_WINDOWS=34VIEW_REAR_WINDOWS=31VIEW_REAR_LEFT_WINDOWS=35VIEW_LEFT_WINDOWS=32VIEW_UP_WINDOWS=33VIEW_UP_DIR=-15.0, 0.0, 0.0//--------------------------------------------------------{Window00}file=main.BMP file_1024=main.BMP size_mm=600window_size_ratio=1.00 position=1visible=1ident=MAIN_PANELwindow_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000gauge00=Cessna_182.Fuel_Quantity, 409,295,64,64gauge01=Cessna_182.Turn_Coordinator, 11,254,83,83gauge02=Cessna_182.Attitude, 201,247,92,92gauge03=Cessna_182.Directional_Gyro, 199,350,95,91gauge04=Cessna_182.Altimeter, 307,248,91,92gauge05=Cessna_182.Vertical_Speed, 308,347,92,94gauge06=Cessna_182.OMI, 503,218,45,17gauge07=CESSNA_182.EGT_CHT.2, 539,245,45,45gauge08=CESSNA_182.EGT_CHT.1, 486,245,44,45gauge09=CESSNA_182.MANIFOLD_PRESSURE_FUEL_FLOW.1, 486,293,46,45gauge10=CESSNA_182.MANIFOLD_PRESSURE_FUEL_FLOW.2, 539,293,45,45gauge11=CESSNA_182.OIL.1, 487,341,46,45gauge12=CESSNA_182.OIL.2, 539,341,45,45gauge13=CESSNA_182.RPM.1, 486,388,48,47gauge14=CESSNA_182.RPM.2, 537, 388 ,47,48gauge15=CESSNA182IFR!Whiskey_Compass, 530,98,41,15gauge16=RSTART1, 411,376,33,65gauge17=RSTART2, 444,376,32,65gauge18=cpt.toggles.plastic!Battery, 295,0,25,25gauge19=CESSNA!Fuel_Selector, 397,11,26,31gauge20=cpt.toggles.plastic!Avionics, 320,0,25,25gauge21=bendix_king.vor1, 103,346,83,85gauge22=HGHB_RA_DIG2, 411,244,57,18gauge23=HGHB_KI229, 11,347,83,81gauge24=00.sukhoi.trim.a, 176,2,58,22gauge25=CESSNA!DME, 406,265,70,25gauge26=flaps_hoac, 65,0,50,25gauge27=HGHB_BEECH_260_ASI.1, 102,254,83,83gauge28=CESSNA!IOAT, 118,2,58,22gauge29=Cessna182RG!Carb_Heat, 448,2,19,48gauge30=CESSNA182S!Switches, 467,4,132,42gauge31=AUTOTRMP, 425,2,20,50gauge32=RKG_buttons!NavGps_button, 233,1,23,22gauge33=RKG_buttons!Gps_button, 275,3,19,19gauge34=RKG_buttons!Radio_button, 256,3,19,19//--------------------------------------------------------{Window01}size_mm=156,276window_size_ratio=1.00 position=8visible=0ident=RADIO_STACK_PANELgauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 0,46,156,46gauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 2, 0,92,156,46gauge02=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio ADF, 0,138,156,46gauge03=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 0,184,156,46gauge04=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 0,230,156,46gauge05=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0,0,156,46//--------------------------------------------------------{Window02}Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=150,250window_size_ratio=1.00 position=8visible=0ident=gps_panelwindow_size= 0.320, 0.500window_pos= 0.400, 0.500gauge00=GPS!gps, 0,0,150,250//--------------------------------------------------------{Fixed Window30}file=BN_FW_R.bmp position=7visible=0ident=30render_3d_window=1nomenu=1window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000//--------------------------------------------------------{Fixed Window31}file=BN_BACK.bmp position=7visible=0ident=31render_3d_window=1nomenu=1window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000//--------------------------------------------------------{Fixed Window32}file=BN_LEFT.bmp position=7visible=0ident=32render_3d_window=1nomenu=1window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000//--------------------------------------------------------{Fixed Window33}file=BN_UP.bmp size_mm=1280position=7visible=0ident=33render_3d_window=0nomenu=0window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000gauge00=BN!PN, 447,356,412//--------------------------------------------------------{Fixed Window34}file=BN_RE_R.bmp position=7visible=0ident=34render_3d_window=1nomenu=1window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000//--------------------------------------------------------{Fixed Window35}file=BN_RE_L.bmp position=7visible=0ident=35render_3d_window=1nomenu=1window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000//--------------------------------------------------------{Fixed Window36}file=BN_RIGHT.bmp position=7visible=0ident=36render_3d_window=1nomenu=1window_size= 1.000, 1.000window_pos= 0.000, 0.000X=0Y=0SIZE_X=8191SIZE_Y=3481
July 14, 200322 yr thx I'll try; my windows numbering was correct; may be problem with "Background_color=0,0,0" somewhere..
July 14, 200322 yr Author Doesn't need to be a bad call from the main panel either. Try right clicking it and select "Close window"...if that works, it's a popup that is causing the problem... [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
