MD-11 Malfunctionning Auto Flight System

Featured Replies

The normally well behaved A/P in my MD-11 has been acting strange for several weeks. It sometimes waffles back and forth, and it seems to consistently fly noticeably right of course. It never acted like this before. Uninstalling/Installing the MD-11 has not helped for me (with patches).Has anyone else noticed this after loading the CS757 4.4 patch? That's the only thing I can remember adding lately. Also, the CS757 was known to have a wing wagging problem on A/P. Maybe just a coincidence; maybe not.Can anyone point me to the "PMDG_MD11_ACS.gau" file. I did a search on my computer and didn't find it. (??)Thanks in advance.Noel W
that's the addon i suspected also. but if you don't find the file then baically you can't fly the MD-11. make a complete uninstall (clean any trace in registry also) and install again and see if it works.

OK, second re-install of the MD-11 didn't work either. I tracked down and removed all of the files and entries in files I could find before installing the MD-11 + updates. No joy. The airplane wants to fly half a wing span (as seen on the ND at the 5 nm setting) to the right of course, and it will at times initially turn the wrong way at waypoints. I did install my clone drive, which does not have the CS757 4.4 update, and it works perfectly. I'll uninstall the CS757, but I'm thinking it tweaked something in FSX, and that may not help. Maybe that's why reloading the MD-11 is not helping. The Coolsky Super80 tracks the course OK; I have not tried other addons. Here's a pic showing the airplane symbol to the right of course. I think I mentioned before, at times it wallows a bit...it just does not act right.Anyone else have any additional advice on this? Thanks in advance.Noel W

DanYour advice was spot on! I read the details on that little utility, and really didn't think it would work...but it did. The airplane tracks right down the center of the FMS course; the A/P is back to its usual rock solid performance.Thank you for taking the time to point to that file. I had run out of ideas.Much appreciated.Noel W
