Boeing 717 and Saab340

Featured Replies

Hello, Do you guys plan on making these two planes in the future? I know there are no addons for the 717 and Saab340 for fsx except for the Perfect Flight 717. (Which as you guys may know isnt very bad) I know you guys "Have your plate full" but im curious to know on what you think of these two planes and if you guys would look into making them.-thank you

Why do people ask PMDG if they're going to make certain planes in the future?

I dunno Blake, maybe something to do with the fact that PMDG create virtual aircraft for the paying public. The guy seems fairly new and he's not demanding anything. What winds me up is when someone starts a new thread on a 777 when two posts down you can read a six page thread on the same subject!

It's a fair question but it has been answered in previous posts. If you search for boeing 717 it should bring it up. You also need to sign your post with your full name per the forum rules to avoid getting your thread locked or deleted by the moderators. :(

PMDG creates virtual aircraft for the paying public? Wow. Revelation. This has been discussed before. Probably along with every other aircraft.

Ask a obvious question I'll give you an obvious answer...

We all need to remember that while we want to make sure PMDG knows what our wishes are, we shouldn't necessarily expect them to tell us if they're going to make what we request. Don't forget its a competitive world, and PMDG are competing in that world. It cant be in their commercial interest to tell the world what they're going to be working on in a year or so. Just in case you need the issue spelled out for you, if they tell us (and therefore all their competitors) that they're going to work on a B717, that gives an advantage to the other guys to get ready with a competing product, or maybe wait till they see PMDGs product then release a knock-off afterwards. If you were a product manager at , say, Feel There and already starting work on a B717, then you heard that PMDG were going to be building one in 12 months from now. That would give you a few options ....

  • You could time your own development so that you release just before PMDG, to spoil their marketing
  • You could wait to release your own at the same time as theirs, and piggyback on PMDG's marketing. They will spend their money promoting the B717 and you can get the benefit, if you play your cards right.
  • You could decide that you can't compete with PMDG cos they make such great products, and switch to building a different product, thereby saving a lot of money.
  • other possibilities exist too

Any of these things will give the competitor an advantage over PMDG. All i'm saying is, lets tell PMDG what we would like them to work on, but dont be dismayed if they dont say "YES!! We'll do that in 2012".
