December 24, 200916 yr when trying to fly from uncontrolled airports I get no response from atc when trying to contact FSS. The menu items are there but when I hit the corresponding numbers ( 2-FSS WX) or (CLR by FSS) I get no response. my flight plan is loaded in fsx as well as RC4. I have RC installed on a seperate computer using widefs.one other problem: often I find RC very slow to respond. I will often see (STANDBY) and it will take a couple of minutes before the menus reappear.any help would be greatly appreciated.TL

December 24, 200916 yr First, if you have in the general options display text on disable it if you don't require it.ATIS and clearance delivery and its ack do take quite a while for RC to assemble due to the large number of phrases. After backing it up I'd defragment the folder where RC is located with its audio subfolders.Insure there are no outstanding acknowledgements in your RC menu. The other issues are generic in that be sure on both your host and client computers processes not required are turned off. With caution if you are not on the Internet when flying (after getting weather if needed) turn off your Internet port (if shared via a router/switch) and then shut down various security services as an example. When you are done flying reboot both to restart all your security and enable your Internet port on your router if that is your net configuration. The exact procedure is dependent on your network configuration. -------------------------one other problem: often I find RC very slow to respond. I did not even think about setting the freq. as I was assuming this was a simulated land line call. I will try it.
