Keyboard layout for FSX

Featured Replies

Has anyone made a keyboard layout with all the FSX commands highlighted on it? Falcon 4 Allied Forces has an excellent one with their sim, I wish we had one for FSX.

Too many commands to create a keyboard legend like that in F4 I would say. There

"I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there

than be up there wishing I was down here"

Oh, forgot to tell you. If you press shift + F10 a couple of times while in flight, the list of key commands comes up, has a search function.

Good idea. But in the Sim you have these Key Command 'groups': (1). Simulator, Views and Multiplayer, (2). Aircraft, Control, Engine and Autopilot, plus(3).Radios, Instrument, Lights and Slew. There must be 400 plus commands. You only have 50 key ('combos') or so to use. Do the math.In FS9 they had a keyboard layout with these groups. One page for each. So you would have to have 3 different overlays. But for FSX you can just print out the (very nice) 1 page list made by 'Radarman' and keep it handy. You can scan and divide it into 2 pages to get larger text size for easier reading.Chuck BNapamule

I published an interactive keyboard design on the "old" avsim library, you just used CTRL + Click on a keyboard layout and it took you to all combinations of that key. I presume it's still available, but I can't access the library today - it was called "FSX keyboard.zip".RegardsPeterH
Thats an intresting concept. I did a search in the library without success of finding that file. Will try again later, would really like to find it.Thanks for the reply.Donald E. Donovan

DonaldLet me know if you can't find it and I'll ask the library administrators if I can re-submit it. If not send me a pm and I'll email you a copy.RegardsPeterH

PeterH,It's at the 'other' site (FSCom). Found by search 'Hayes' in FSX Miscel, named 'fsx_keyb.zip', 80 Kb, June 2008. I didn't have it and will give it a try.Chuck BNapamule
