FSX wonderful graphics

Featured Replies

Hello!I was wondering what software and/or hardware is used to get the very nice graphics which you can see in the youtube clip below.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOTEmwHTonoIt looks much more realistic than with my own equipment/settings (Win XP, FSX, 2 G RAM, Intel Dual Core 2.6 GHz, Geforce graphics card with 700 MB of memory). I use almost the highest settings in FSX without problems. In the video clip the VC seems very realistic, the 3D feeling is improved, MCP for example. What makes the head turn so smooth and go up towards the overhead panel (look over the main panels)? Is active camera being used? Can stuff like a 64bit OP, like win 7 with directX 10 help you get this nice graphics? More RAM? Haven't had the chance to test windows 7 yet.Help is much appreciated! Br :(

A piece of hardware is being used that tracks the motion of your head and translates that into view panning within FSX. Its called aTrackIR. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/

And I think that the TrackIR is also the main reason why the OP thinks the VC looks better, more realistic, more 3D, etc. If you can run FSX with high settings, as you say, all you need to get the same realism as in that movie, will be the TrackIR! I myself won't fly without it. ;)

Your monitor and therefore resolution may be an issue. And texture filtering will smoothen the lines, make sure it

"I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there

than be up there wishing I was down here"

Thanks guys!TrackIR is now on my "Things to buy" -list.I've never looked into overclocking of my HW. I am always worried that I will damage something. But maybe I will try learn it. Any suggestions on where I can read about overclocking, generally? (Apart from in my HW manuals).Br
