Hi Chris,Monitor TWR is issued when there are Ai aircraft ahead of you. Contact TWR is issued when you are the primary aircraft.

also, at larger airports, you will be told to monitor tower more often. also depends on time of day, number of runways, etc.a little variety is the spice of life. as long as it is real.

Is there anyway to modify the trigger as to when you are told to monitor tower? 99% of the time I get a t/o clearance when im still 500 - 1000ft from the h/s point. Thanks JR

Not with v4 but it is being changed in v5. We're still having discussions about the best time to make the switch.
