July 19, 200322 yr Yes, Rodger, you can reinstall default aircraft from CD1. I don't remember the file name but they're in one of the .cab files. They don't take that long to extract with winzip - just extract them to a temporary folder then cut & paste them into FS.
July 19, 200322 yr I hate to ask, but I honestly do not know how to extract the cab from disk one. The thing ruins itself every time I fire it up.I realize I may have no right to be adsking such basics, but I do get mixxed up now and then.Any help is appreiciated.Thanks.
July 19, 200322 yr Do you have Winzip? Just point & click on the .cab file and tell it to extract all files to a temporary directory.
July 19, 200322 yr Yes, you can Rodger. But you'll need to go to a couple of places. Most of the airplane components (everything except the aircraft.cfg file and extra textures) are in the AIRCRAFT.CAB folder on CD#1. Copy the aircraft folder needed into the Aircraft folder in your FS2002 installation. The Aircraft.cfg files and some extra textures are also on CD#1 but in a different location. You'll find them in TYPICAL.CAB/typical/aircraft. Just copy the ones you need into the same location as the rest of the airplane. If you also need the gauges reinstalled, they can be also be found on CD#1 in this path: FS2002.CAB/Game/gauges (copy what's needed into the FS2002 gauges folder). Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. July 20, 200322 yr Close down the install program and go into Windows explorer.Right click on that particular CAB file and Explore. Find the GPS gauge and extract. Move the GPS.Gau to the FS2002 Gauges folder. It would need to overwrite the one that's there.Bilbo
