January 1, 201016 yr HelloAt a thread titled GeoCalcAzimuth 1/2-DME dated 26-27 November 2008 ,mention was made to an example of how to use Azimuth calcs , and a link was provided.I have been unable to get the link to work .Could anyone help to provide the contents of that link.I am trying to create a TFR instrument for my F-111 panel .Assistance would be greatly appreciated .RegardsCobs
January 1, 201016 yr Cobs, I tried finding the link too. Couldn't find. Anyhow I believe that AZIMUTH may not be the keyword that you were hoping. In GeoCalc there is a function where when you have a given LAT/LON, a RADIAL(AZIMUTH), and a distance, plug those into the GeoCalc function of the GPS and it will return another LAT/LON. Same as WPT/BRG/DIS entry in a FMC. ( GRB060/10)Roman FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap
January 1, 201016 yr Moderator Unfortunately, since the hack last year resulted in the entire message base archives needing to be reindexed, it is impossible to find threads that only contained the results of a Search link...I too spent about two hours attempting to relocate the linked post, but without knowing at least a few of the keywords in the post on which to search, it has been a fruitless exercise......although I did manage to revisit some rather interesting threads during the exercise. ;) Fr. January 2, 201016 yr Commercial Member Not sure how much of a help this would be, be here are some very useful aviation formulas complied in the Aviation Formulary V.144.Using the formulas you can derive a bunch of GeoCalc figures etc, sounds like what you're looking for but I'm not sure.Engjell BerishaGood Day! January 2, 201016 yr Author Thank you for your efforts and comments .What you have provided gives me a starting point . I downloaded the formulas and will look in there .Basically at this stage I would prefer to avoid Simmconnect .Seperate of the above , the TFR requires descent down to the clearance plane by initially 10 degree and then 12 degreedive . At higher speed that necessitates a VSI greater than 9900 FPM from the autopilot .Has this been done before , I presume autopilot VSI greater than 9900 is possible , but as yet have not tackled that problem ?RegardsKarol
