as soon as rc updates a heading, or a distance on the display, rc displays the window again.

If you wish you can assign in the FSUIPC setup tab for Options a hot key combo to toggle the FSUIPC RC staus window display on and off avoiding the use of the mouse. See page 25 in the FSUIPC 3 user guide and do a search for "hide" in the FSUIPC4 user guide. As jd stated when RC changes the disp[lay it will appear again. I use a combo of ctrl-x. The FSUIPC manual refers to the ADV. Display which is no longer used but it still affects the new transparent window.
