January 18, 201016 yr When I opened RC4 today I got the below screens (before and after opening RC4 shown). I re-installed RC and got exactly the same effects. The airport I am trying to fly out of (WARR Juanda Indonesia) is not listed in the controller info screen (no radio frequencies, etc). If I load a flight that does show up in the controller info screen with data, all is well. Do I simply need to write my flight plan departing from WARR beginning with the first VOR (or other type waypoint)? I really don't believe there is a problem with either FSX or RC4 since things look normal when flying from fully recognized airports. JD Read my blog
January 18, 201016 yr Author Nope, no third party scenery here other than SceneeryTech Landclass and FEX. Yes, I clicked on rebuild scenery data base but no joy. These screenies are taken from the re-install I did this morning and I did not click the rebuild button on the re-install. Right now I don't intend to do either.I have been flying down through Indonesia on my way to Australia on a time critical series of flights. After I posted those screenies, I wrote another flight plan (using default FSX planner) from WPDL Dili Indonesia to YPDN Darwin Australia and on a preliminary test opening of RC4 everything appeared normal. I'll do a flight using that plan tomorrow. Hopefully, all will be well. The nearest analogy I can make about the appearance of the screen in that second shot is that the airplane has been dispatched to Purgatory. January 18, 201016 yr The second screen shows what you get at an uncontrolled airport where no local control exists. You get your clearance from FSS (it simulates a phone call) and then you are given a time you must contact ATC to activate your plan in the air.Filing starting from a VOR will not work. The controller page should have an FSS frequency but if not RC will assign one. You can also assign frequencies in the Controller page but it will not be sticky between sessions. The airport as described at:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juanda_International_Airportshould have local control of some type. I only have FS9 and it is not in it by default as determined by AFCAD.For FSX you can check it out with the payware AFX or the freeware ADE9X for the properties available. If it is a default airport I wonder what the state of it was when the FSX scenery was created. If it is an add-on then especially make sure you install the latest makerwys.exe from the link in the pinned topics as it solves some problems with certain types of add-on sceneries.

I've done that numerous times before and no problem. I am not at any place where I can fly out of. Upon further thought, the airplane appears to be under water (no kidding). I'm betting that the sceneries (the airports I have had trouble with are all in remote Indonesia) are, to us in the U.S.A. of no real importance. Again, the few airports I have had this trouble with are default scenery. The very few add-on airports I use have always opened and shown up correctly in RC4.I am kind of curious re the thought of "what state the airport was in when the FSX scenery was created". I'm betting they are somehow less than effective (read defective). As I said earlier, I'm on a series of time critical flights. If I have further problems (if that's what this is), then I will investigate further. Right now, things seem to be working normally when flying out of other airports. I may return here someday, but don't wait up nights for me to write. Thanks for the ideas John, and the very quick response when I re-installed RC4 this morning.P.S. Will RC 5 be ready next week? :( Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
