January 20, 201016 yr Does anyone else have the same problem with the abrupt lines left by clouds and mist interacting with hils as seen in this pic?Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks.
January 20, 201016 yr Meaning that there is an option to have a clear haze texture used which eliminates the haze layer.Or use Active Sky Graphics which contains the same clear textures.
January 20, 201016 yr Or..Go to 'World\Weather' off FSX menu then 'User Defined Weather' and then Custom and then Advanced until you get to where you can see the 'Cloud' and the 'Visibility' tabs.Set the BASE of CLOUD layer (if any) to 8,000 Ft (your cirrus layer should be from 18,000 to 25,000 ft). Set the BASE elevation of VISIBILITY layer to '0' (Zero) Ft (OR, set vis BASE Elev to be ABOVE any mountains (ie: 14,000 ft, with 'tops' at 25,000 ft). One or the other 'Visibility' setting will work. No need for any enviroment programs. Then BE SURE TO 'SAVE' a flight to be able to retain/save weather settings. It's that simple.Chuck BNapamule
January 21, 201016 yr What if one is using downloaded "real weather" via FSX itself or 3rd party programs? (not a user defined weather setting.)It's probably a trade secret, but does anyone know what file comprises this haze effect? I would be curious to try experimenting with it and trying to come up with a "clear haze" version as well. Alexander Alonso
January 21, 201016 yr Hi,Chuck's method will work one time, until FSX refreshes it's weather, then it's gone. An environmental program will always have it available! Some of the stratus textures control the haze layer.
