January 26, 201016 yr a couple of things. First, I don't see a PSU. What kind of power supply are you going to be using? Second, I highly suggest you at least mildly overclock your i7 to get the max out of FSX. As long as you're not pushing the limit, you can safely and easily overclock the cpu after a little bit of reading, and those extra Ghz will do wonders for FSX. Third, you may want to think about a bigger harddrive or a 2nd harddrive. Depending on the amount of add-on files you have for FS, the gigs add up quickly. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
January 26, 201016 yr If you're not going to overclock then you're not going to run ultra high settings, especially not with add-ons. Unless you enjoy a slideshow, that is.
January 26, 201016 yr If the only game you plan on playing is FSX, your OS will be Vista or Win7 then you should consider a GTX285 rather than the ATI5870. Some people have problems with the ATI card and FSX, you can review the threads in the video forum below this forum.Rod
