January 26, 201016 yr Some months ago I did a clean install of FSX but unfortunately after many hours messing aroundI just couldn't get simconnect to work at all, which meant I had to abandon FSX for a while sinceall my flying is done online. I am considering doing a clean reinstall of OS and clean install FSX, but this time I'd like to ask for some advice regarding installation. My version of FSX pack is the Gold Edition with a 3rd DVD "Acceleration expansion pack".Running Vista Ultimate 64 with SP2.Would like to know if there is a certain installation order , if I should install the service packs separate and avoid installing the expansion pack and any other tips (if any) concerning simmconnect, also useful links. Thanks and regards Joaquin Blanco Intel Core i9-9900K at 5Ghz, Corsair Hydro H100i RGB PLATINUM CPU cooler, Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E,Motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super 8GB GDDR6, G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory, 500GB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2 PCIe,2TB Samsung 860 QVO Solid State Drive, 2TB, 2 x Samsung 860 Evo 2TB, 1 x 1TB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair RM650x 80 PLUS Gold 650W PSU.

Acceleration disk will install SP1 if not already installed. After installation, I would restart your system but that's not really necessary. If you can't get simconnect to work this time, you need to let us know so those familiar with simconnect can possibly find a solution. Best regards,Jim
January 27, 201016 yr Author Many thanks to all for the replies. Will definitely do as suggested and if simconnect fails once again I will get back with details. It is a bit disconconcerting to know that this problem has also ocurred to other users, specially when Microsoft no longersupports their product. Best regards,JimAnd to add to this, once you install FSX, you should reboot and then run FSX one time to let it build it's config files before installing Acceleration, which incorporates both SP1 and 2 and a little bit beyond that.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
February 9, 201016 yr Author Ok guys this is where the fun begins.Installed FSX Gold + Acceleration Pack. Did reboot and did a short flight after each installed.FSX tells me SP2 installed as part of theAcceleration Pack. Problem is I cannot see anyAddon folder or simmconnect anywhere. Did install latest versions of FSCopilot & FSInn(in that order) and encountered no problem. However FSCopilot is missing from the Sim.Any help much appreciated.Regards Joaquin Blanco Intel Core i9-9900K at 5Ghz, Corsair Hydro H100i RGB PLATINUM CPU cooler, Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E,Motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super 8GB GDDR6, G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Memory, 500GB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2 PCIe,2TB Samsung 860 QVO Solid State Drive, 2TB, 2 x Samsung 860 Evo 2TB, 1 x 1TB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair RM650x 80 PLUS Gold 650W PSU.
