Microstutter problem with high-end system

Featured Replies

Hello there,I'm suffering from a really annoying problem. I have put hours into trying to solve this, but no luck. I'm pretty ######..I've had my FS9 up and running quite nicely the last months, with nice add-on sceneries, aircraft and AI traffic. However when I'm flying or approaching an airport I get a FPS drop to 4.6 or 4.3.This is driving me crazy, since they shouldn't be happening on my system. My framerates are always very good, but lately I started to notice them. I think they happen at (freeware) add-on airports. I have not tried all my airports, but it happened at at least three of them. The stutter almost always occurs at the same spot, like on approach or before touchdown. I tried everything. My harddisk is defragmented by name, I used CCleaner and Adaware, I moved the sliders to the left, tried a new NVIDIA driver, built a new FS9.cfg, tried with default airplane and clear weather, I switched off every background program I could think of, I tried various FPS locks ranging from 27 to 60, I gave FS9.exe a higher priority trough taskmanager. I'm getting desperate. I just want to enjoy flying! If i'm not able to solve this I might have to re

Are your fps normal when flying into large default airports?

I flew around KSEA for a couple of minutes with everything maxed and frames were good, no drops. It ran smoothly.edit: tried KJFK also, no drops to 4 or 5. I locked FPS at 27 and that's where it stays. Saw 9.3 one time but that was more likely due to switching views or something else.

Do you use Active Camera?

Are all those add-on airports that you get bad fps at from the same company? Seems like its just those particular add-ons that give you the problems.

The sceneries are from different developers. I have FS9.1 installed. I don't use ActiveCamera but I do use DBS Walk & Follow.Bart
