January 28, 201016 yr Hi,Some time ago, when I was looking into getting Radar Contact I discovered that there was a problem with the interaction with AI when FSHotSFX was in use... Recently, in a thread on another forum, Pete Dowson wrote: FSUIPC does (and has for a long time) provided a way for applications to read any or all of the full AI traffic descriptive strings (not just the very abbreviated ones in the TCAS tables). This is by individual AI requests (one request per string) via the 16 byte offset D000, also the palce for detecting runways in use. The strings available, up to 48 characters each, include:Tail numberAirline name + Flight numberATC aircraft type + model (as tweo zero-terminated strings)Aircraft titleATC aircraft type + last 3 digits of tail numberOf course, this mechanism was intended to be used by ATC programs needing specific information about an aircraft they are about to talk to, so they could formulate their requests correctly no matter what mode the TCAS table was set to.Does Radar Contact now take advantage of this, thus eliminating the TCAS table issues or am I just dreaming? If not, is it a likely possibility for future updates? While I'm here, another question... If I run RC on a networked machine over WideFS, can I set it up so my controller buttons on the FS PC control RC but the sounds are delivered through the speakers of the networked machine (the one running RC)? I am pretty sure it is a possible setup for PFE but I don't know about RC...Thanks,Geoff

Perhaps a user with FSHotSFX can chime in at say what the score is..?As for the audio, that sounds perfect as I actually WANT the ATC sounds on the WideFS PC - that way I can have my headphones in that one giving me ATC and the main FS PC churning out the engine sounds.Cheers,Geoff
January 29, 201016 yr I use FSHotSFX and it still has the issue with the TCASid needing to be set to Type+. I do have a slight workaround for this issue in that once I am airborne, I turn off RC's communication with the AI and leave FS9's ATC to deal with the AI. That way, I don't have to listen to the aircraft type being called by RC4 instead of the airline and flight number. Only on the ground, do I have RC control the AI. It's a pain, but that's the only way to get around the TCASid issue with FSHotSFX. A shame really that support for FSHotSFX ended otherwise it's a great product.
