February 1, 201016 yr I just recently purchased Latin VFR Sao Paulo and it is extremely well done. This has made me look into buying Tropical Sims Rio airports. Unfortunately, they don't return e-mails. I bought a full package years ago and it came with six FSX airports and I don't see anywhere an SP 2 patch on their support site. They have everything else, including single airport updates, but not the 6. Sadly, they must have neglected to create one or help out an old customer.Does anyone have Tropicalsim's SBRJ & SBSP and does it improve the autogen in the area? If anyone has any links to landclass, autogen, etc for the Rio area, I'd certainly appreciate it. MSFS
February 1, 201016 yr Hi Jose, how are you? After reading your post here I made a survey on our accounts. There is only one email from you, that arrived for us today, at 00:40hs, local time.I believe Leando has already aswered you, as although being Sunday, we try to respond our clients within 24 hours, always. As I haven`t spoken to him during the day, I`m gonna check it out. For sure you will have an email back to you tomorrow.Sincerely I can`t see where a business email being received between a Saturday night and a Sunday morning, and the answer only arriving for you on a Monday (in the worst case), could be called as "Unfortunately, they don't return e-mails".About your bundle, including the 6 FSX airports done at the time, if there would be any patches needed for them they would be available at our site. Sometimes a patch or update, released for a scenery is available as single, but any user of that scenery is able to download it and install using the proper serial number of your order, no matter if on a single or on a bundle that contains the airport in question. The bundles serials are included on the patch/update installers permissions. On cases of exception our support emails are there to serve and help clients, but being a Sunday, some patience would be highly desired :( About the autogen question, our work is restricted to the airport itself. We don`t make land-classes, nor vincinity autogen improvements. There are several proucts (free & pay) to fill this necessity, and our customers may use any of them along our sceneries. My best regards,Carlos Pereira.www.tropicalsim.com

I understand that it is the weekend, but I've e-mailed your support e-mail address in the past and I have never received a response. I've done it on several occasions years ago and never, ever received a response. I don't make things up.I do know that other developers do answer my e-mails, even on Sundays. If you look at my track record, I don't go around trying to disparage a company, because I know that you as a developer would not appreciate it.I hope that you can personally answer my questions. I would like to own the two Rio airports. Please send me info on add-on mesh, or land class, for FSX.As for the update for the 6 airports, the e-mail I sent contains all the info you will need.Thanks. MSFS
February 1, 201016 yr Hi Jose. I can assure you that we`ve never received your other emails. It would be senseless not to respond a client. I was referering to this one, as I didn`t know about the others. This is why I mentioned the required patience :(Don`t worry. Tomorrow we will give the return to you.For what I`ve read there may be 2 possible causes for what you are facing relative to the updates. Wait for the email, please. On an emergency case you can email us at >> [email protected] << too.My best regards,Carlos Pereira.www.tropicalsim.com

They in my opinion are all really well done. I had had some issues even after applying a few patches, but both Carlos and Leandro at Tropical Sim have been very helpful in gettting it solved.I will say this though, at SBRJ (Santos Dumont) I had to remove the SBRJ_FSX_cvx.bgl out of the SBRJ/scenery folder because when that file was in active it messed up the coastlines around the aiport, especially around Flamengo beach. When say messed up I mean that it for some reason elimated the beach textures and made the coast just a sharp line.As far as the autogen you were asking about it doesn't do anything with it.However, the fellow over at Terra-Brasilis are working on finishing the Mega Rio for FSX freeware package which will include photo scenery, autogen, buildings, airports and more. You can view some screen shots here: http://www.terra-brasilis.org/forum/index.php?topic=1409.0 and here http://www.terra-brasilis.org/forum/index.php?topic=2144.0 . In fact I was in Rio for two weeks during the holdiays and met with one of the developers from Terra-brasilis and he was explaining more to me about the scenery. It will be very nice when they are done, even better since it will be freeware. In the mean time while I am waiting I fixed the horrible water class in the area to get rid of the coral reefs and make the water look darker like it does in real life. If you want the water class files PM me and I will email them to you. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
