February 2, 201016 yr Hey PMDG folks,First of all, this is a wonderful product and really blows me away. Attention has been paid to every single minute detail. But, what about the aircraft external lighting? Does a real world 747 have such dim lights? If you look at the red beacon, the strobes or the landing lights, they're not bright enough. I'm not talking about them casting light on the ground, that part is fine. I'm talking about the light source as such. A strobe light is supposed to blind you at night because of its brightness. Could that be implemented in the 747-8 as well as the 747-400? The same goes for the beacon as well as landing lights. I just cannot see the landing lights when they are on (very faint) and the beacon is pretty much visible during the night time but extremely faint during the day time. In real world, the red beacon during day time is extremely bright. Also, as someone else mentioned, the dome lighting doesn't work in the 747-8; instrument lighting however works. I'm sure PMDG will be able to sort this out, of course this is no herculian task for a team that develops complex aircraft models and systems. Cheers!!!!!Regards,Ashwath.

February 3, 201016 yr Commercial Member This won't be addressed because we are unable to duplicate this problem. To the users experiencing this, have you installed any lighting addons that may change the nature of default lights? Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com

To the users experiencing this, have you installed any lighting addons that may change the nature of default lights?Hi Vin,I do have REX installed, but only the cloud textures and other textures are in use from it, not the light textures. I'm not saying that the PMDG lights are not working, they are, but is really faint during day time. I just wanted to know if this is how a real world aircraft's lights are. Because if you look at the taxi light of a 747 directly from front during day time it is still blinding. Just want your opinion on that. Regarding the dome lighting, I do know there is a fix on the way. So thanks for that.Regards,Ashwath.

February 13, 201016 yr seriously weird...is it supposed to vary depending on the video card u have...the lights on the pmdg 747-400 and 747-8i are very faint...only during day time...during night time it is fine...but the strobes are not blinding...i would like to see the blinding bright effect of the strobes...this doesn't mean that the default fsx aircraft have blinding lights...i just dont care about them becoz they are default aircraft...if pmdg is still working on the 747-8i update, can u pls recreate the lights section...i'm sure it wouldn't take u long...i want blinding strobes...
