February 4, 201016 yr Hey Guys, I was having issues with the MD-11 so I decided to un-install it. I went to Control Panel Add/Remove Programs, and the Setup.exe kept crashing and prevented me from uninstalling. So I went ahead and deleted the folders manually, and also cleaned out the registry. Now when I try to re-install it, it says, "The installer is an older version than currently installed," and that I must uninstall the update 1.20 or something like that before I can continue with the installation process. I can't un-install what its asking, and I am unable to find any more PMDG file on my Hard Drive, so as of know I am all out of ideas. Hoepfully someone can help me, and also this is Windows Vista 64 Bit SP2, and FSX Accellerated. Thanks,Angelo Cosma Angelo Cosma PPL ASEL / IFR Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Field Service Representative (SEA) ZSE ARTCC Intel i7 6700K 4.8Ghz / ASUS ROG Maximus Hero VIII / 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz Ram / EVGA 1080Ti FTW3/ Corsair H110i GTX EVGA 850 Watt Gold / Samsung 850 500gb SSD

February 5, 201016 yr Author Hey Tabs, I recieved an email back from Paul although, I am not to thrilled about the answer. He recomends a re install of windows and I have no intention of doing that you said this happend before, do you have any other ideas?Angelo Cosma Angelo Cosma PPL ASEL / IFR Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Field Service Representative (SEA) ZSE ARTCC Intel i7 6700K 4.8Ghz / ASUS ROG Maximus Hero VIII / 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz Ram / EVGA 1080Ti FTW3/ Corsair H110i GTX EVGA 850 Watt Gold / Samsung 850 500gb SSD
February 5, 201016 yr Sounds like the registry is hosed. Just because you think you cleaned out all traces of it doesn't mean anything. Every string doesn't have the letters "PMDG" in it.You can probably bypass the windows reinstall by creating a new user and reinstall that way. This way you can at least drag your backups over providing you give yourself rights. If Paul said to reinstall Windows it is because you porked your registry and there is little you can do, at least not for your MD-11. I am pretty knowledgable in the registry and that knowledge really only reitifies the whole "Stay Out" concept, unless I'm doing a harmless hack or tweak. Next time I recommend coming here before you start deleting registry keys. Creating a new user seems like the best approach to me, unless you can somehow hack the installer that is. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
February 6, 201016 yr Author Alright Fixed it, I used REVO Uninstaller and was back flying in 10 minutes. HA, Imagine that. So that was pretty painless. February 8, 201016 yr Angelo, what is REVO and where can I find it? I am in the same situation as you were and my next step is a complete system restore which will not be pretty.Ryan Gann Ryan Gann
