February 27, 201016 yr People,I have been looking a long time for a good Il-86 simulation. I find the Il-86 to be one of the most impressive aircraft and aesthetically pleasing aircraft produced by man, and so you can imagine I have wanted to fly it in FS badly. Opinions on the beauty of this greta Russian plane are undoubtedly varied, and I know most people will not like it for one or more reasons. However, this is not the reason I'm posting this thread :(My point is the following: I have found what I searched for. There is a magnificent Il-86 to be had, and it can be downloaded at Avsim.su. No, I'm not referring to the Samdim Il-86, which, while it has a nice exterior, has no VC. No, what I'm pointing at, is the Il-86 by Kirill Konovalov, who also did a nice Il-96. There is however a problem with his Il-86: while the exterior looks very good and it has a very good-looking VC, it is in beta, and I fear it will never come out of it. The guy that does the gauges has stopped working on it indefinitely. While I can't site any reasons, I heard of Kirill it has got to do with money. The Il-86 is freeware, but I for one am prepared to pour in some money of needed, because the project promised to be of PT Tu-154 standards! And now I turn to you people. I desperately want to see this plane finished, but there is no easy way to get the plane done. I have been talking a bit about with Kiril, and he also wasn't sure what to do (in the meantime he went on to do a Tu-204, which also looks very good!). I want to ask if you have a solution for this problem? can you think of a way to get this plane done? At least post to say you want the plane. In the end I'll send an email to Kirill, telling him about the thread, hoping it'll help in some way. February 28, 201016 yr Author I thnk so to. It's an excellent plane, but it's not nearly as well known as it should be. You guys already know that Igor is now doing a FSX version of that plane? And the next plane on his list is a An-24 for FS9 and FSX!
