How to shut the sound of Altimeter Vibrator ?

Featured Replies

Hello,I have a question concerning a sound which I can hear when my Jetstream 4100 is "Cold and Dark" and when I launch the GPU (I use J41ColdDark 0.6.exe to obtain this situation C&D).....I searched sounds of the Jetstream 4100 and I think to having found the name of this sound, but I don't know if there is a switch to cut it because during the preflight or checklist this sound drive me crazy (LOL), I've used the "Mute & Unmute switch" but impossible to shut this sound or alarm. Here the name of this file: "Altimeter Vibrator", you can found this "sound file" here: Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\PMDGPlease can you tell me if a switch is available to shut this sound ?Is it a bug or normal ?A great thank's in advance for your assistance....Best regards, Olivier.

Full name please, Okivier.Yes, very real too. You want the sound cancelling Bose or David Clark headsets when sitting in this cockpit.

I absolutely love what PMDG accomplished with their soundset. Every switch, knob, etc.. with it's own unique sound. That's what separates the men from the boys in FS addons. Now, to answer your question, I'm almost 100% positive there's not a switch for this, but you can silence it yourself by just renaming the file. If you right click on it, click rename and just add a letter on the end, it will not play anymore.Curt Branch

You can type it each time, or you can set up a signature block in the options you have for the forum's My Controls (see right side above thread list).

I don't understand the problem statement. Do you mean the sound changes to external when you start to taxi?Full names required here.

Hello Dan,In the cocpit, while flying, if speed changes eg. due to wind, even +-1 kt, envoriment sound (engine noise etc) starts inside the cockpit. It can be fixed by pressing Spot view key and then back to VC view, but just for a short while.Depar Ka

You should have started a new thread, this doesn't have much to do with the altimeter vibrator. There is normally a lot of environment sound in the cockpit including engines and wind. What do you hear before the sound changes? What happens when you press Q twice? Does it become what was before or after the speed change?
