February 28, 201016 yr I am in the process if cleaning a hard drive. I have one hard drive(500GB) with 2 partitions, C:(where operating system is-vista 64bit ultimate). and D:where FSX is, and the other hard drive,(500GB) H:So I can do a clean install into C:and at the same time clean it and D: I plan to move FSX to my H drive. Can I simply pick up the whole FSX directory and move it to H: without having to uninstall and re-install etcI then will clean out the C:D: and re-install my Vista 64, but leave FSX in H:Regards Geoff Bryce

The system registry contains items indicating where FSX is installed and, when you did a clean install, it wiped all those items. In this situation, you will have to do a clean installation of FSX too. The good news is you won't have to uninstall FSX as it simply will not uninstall. I would recommend renaming it to FSX_OLD. Here's another link regarding moving FSX to different drives that might be helpful - http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...p;hl=partitions. Best regards,Jim
February 28, 201016 yr It is possible, although you may have to reinstall some of your addons.Just run this registry fix from Flight 1's website and it will point your OS in the right direction. "Even Ozzy's wagging his tail again. Liam who?"
March 1, 201016 yr Author Jim, Thanks Jim for comments. My main aim is to clean my drive and registry, as it has a few issues. While painful to re-install everything, I do not have that much add-ons, FSX,FSUIPC,PMDG, so not too much time. Saw that link you provide..very good info for future. Charlie, Thanks for the registry fix , I have put that in my "tool box"Toriu, I have partition manager..did not think about using it to move items, though, as Jim said, I may end up with registry issues, which I am trying to make clean as possible. Thanks for help,Regards Geoff Bryce
