Hi Bob, thanks for the reply. I had deleted the installation folder, but it seems it came back empty after reboot. However, the app was still very much alive, so it had squirreled itself somewhere Using the "everything" app, I found several instances for the MSFS2020_Autofps. Most of them in my C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming and one(MSFS2020_AutoFPS.exe) in the C:\Windows\Prefetch. I will remove the found instances to see if this removes the app persistence. NOTE: ok, saw where the removal method is to reinstall, and choose uninstall from the installer app. Will try. NOTE: 2 Ummm, that did not help. when I run the installer again, I can see the REMOVE caption. Clicking this bring up the comment, Please stop MSFS2020_AutoFPS and try again. How do I stop it. I see the little dog icon in my taskbar, but there is nothing to say STOP. Also trying to remove instances of it in my system, says Nah...its still open in another program etc Maybe the author could provide a 'how to remove this app if required" on the install process. @Reset XPDR

It seems a great little app. I am in the process of tidying my files up on my flight sim machine, in readiness for a new flight sim machine in a few months time for MSFS2024. An issue I found with MSFS2020_Auto 0.4.1 is the ability to remove it from my machine. I installed it to a named file. I thought by simply deleting the entire file structure, reboot my machine would remove the app. However, I find the little guy is a bit illusive to actually find its roots enabling me to remove it, then place in a better location. Every time MSFS2020fires up, so does this app. I did notice it created a log event. Any thoughts.

That is a good point. As an official old sod, my memory is not the best these days...so my wife says...Anyway, I some times visit here and think..I was going to check some thing. I see a few posts and it comes back to me..Ummm..yes, the 747v3...now what is happening. I realise this is sacrilege here, but often wonder about a "good" A380? for FSX. I am sure RR wants to give a side stick a go one day....

I have the old big girl in flight now between YSSY and RJAA. Still solid as a rock with no vices.

Andre, pmdg guys are coders and flight sim technicians, not sales types who are in your face at every opportunity. If RR presented a quarterly newsletter to us, this is another job that takes him away from coding. As you see from the post by Paul above, flight sim guys are not noted for their salesmanship. Maybe if every one stopped inquiring about the new products, the pmdg salesman inclination would come to the front and we would get some news, if RR considered it useful. It will happen. While waiting, enjoy the 737/777 and for some of us oldies, the 747v1 and MD11.

Thanks Steve, will look at that today. When I fire up FSX and choose DX10 Preview, then shut down and reload, the FSL A320 when chosen, no longer mentions your program, so I guess, FSL A320 is ok now just with the DX10 Preview loaded. Things seem to have stopped flashing, so, maybe ok now. I notice though, when you look at the scenery, ORBX YMML, I see black boxes around objects every where. Is this the ORBX scenery not happy with DX10? and does your program try and resolve these things?

Thanks for that Steve. I am in the process of getting the FSL A30X working, and they say when the A320 is loading, if I do not have DX10 preview working, the vas footprint is a lot higher than DX9. When I do this, I notice the scenery a bit flashy. So, do I assume your software stabilises the output and reduces the flashes? I have often wondered about Nvida inspector and if I should let this loose on my Win 7 system. I have a nvida card.

I am looking to buy DX10 Scenery Fixer, but it does not seem to be available in FSS? Geoff

Hi Kyle, Looking on my(our) 777 manual, it says,"....Specifically, you may not sell, resell,trade or barter this software product/license without the permission of PMDG...". So, is what you are saying, PMDG will never give a licence holder permission! What about if I went to the P3D version, and I gave my FSX box away, as the conditions above seem to imply, if I receive some 'thing' for the box? Maybe reading the total amount of your conditions etc, (which I have not) this maybe covered. OR are PMDG really saying, I have purchased the license for the use of the product. When I no longer have use for the product, the software product license will lapse with me. As the original license owner, I am not able to transfer the license to any other person or entity for any reason, without PMDG permission? As I still want to use the MD11, looks like I will keep the FSX system, so the above comment, just out of curiosity.

So, with a pretty decent rig like you have, you use Windows ME or Vista !!!. Not sure if the 2+ days of work to uninstall 7 plus all other software and change windows to 10, reload FSX, all other software then lose my MD11 and 747v1 for no real gain. Maybe if I win lotto and go the P3D way, worth the hassle.

My Win 7 Flight Sim machine keeps asking for the Win 10 upgrade. It would seem from reading many posts, if I were to take up the free offer for Win 10: I need to do a clean install, rather than an upgrade? How does this happen, as my work machine simply upgraded and I saw no 'offer' for a clean upgrade version? Does this also mean I will no longer be able to use the PMDG MD11 and 747v1 if I only have Win 10? Do you think PMDG and other developers will provide future aircraft which will run on Win 7 and Win 10...or...sort of like the days when XP was everything and time to let go and move on!

Hi Carter, as Dan says, ask the support guys, but I think your last sentence says it all. I have always found after a disk crash needing a OS re-install, I have needed to make sure FSX and all reference to PMDG aircraft removed, maybe even reg clean etc then rebuild your OS with FSX and PMDG aircraft. REMEMBERING to get FSX working with stock a/c. Reboot. Load a PMDG a/c, try it, reboot, etc

I purchased the PMDG 777 CD/DVD via Aerosoft and their update service works great.

Hi Andy, You do not say what version of windows you have. This old software prefers some thing like Win 7. Newer versions like 10 may be an issue. When you load the MD11, these should be the steps you see: Install MD11 disk in drive, should self start, if not, select drive with disk, start, execute, 'x':\setup.exe(x=your drive) Click the button Install PMDG MD-11, click next Enter the serial / registration key / number, click validate, you will get a confirmation or error message. Click ok, if confirmed. If error, fix the error. Click next to proceed, Accept the Licence Agreement, click next. Choose if you want the custom or a complete installation and click next. The installer will now search for FSX, if it does not find it, or you want to tell it where to find FSX, select the browse button, until you find the directory with FSX,click next,then install to activate the software. This step super important, otherwise the installer can not find FSX. Remove the disk and Reboot your computer...you should now have the MD-11 available.

Not at the stage yet to ditch FSX. Too much invested in the FSX 737,777,747v1, and MD11. If I move to P3D, then yes, the gorgeous MD11 last flight will be to the bone yard. I will be in a quandary when the 747v3 comes out in FSX...should I get it, or wait until P3D decision made?

Wen you have AI working at fairly high rates, then pretty important to work out the active runway, otherwise, landing into departing traffic a bit disconcerting. I use ASN ATIS, which most times selects the active runway.

Many of us forget about updating the Bios. I guess, because a little(lot) scary to change, so try other things

Hi Peter, Glad you fixed it. You did not mention in your post what Windows version you were using for the new build? Win 10?

Hi Avery, Are you using FSX? Do you use the PMDG MD11 load manager? Do you select the AutoFlight button, so that auto throttle activates above 65% throttle movement?, and prior to take off, do you still have any messages in the green box, other than maybe hand brake? As Michael said, do the two tutorials, especially the first tutorial as it is pretty basic and walks you through the aircraft set up very good. when you get this tutorial correct, onto the second. Until you get the whole flights to match the tutorials, you should remain with them. For tutorial 1, If you are still over an approach waypoint higher than the tutorial, and assuming you programmed the FMC correctly, and it does not have any warnings, then you will need to provide some further details and pics of the FMC etc. You can always post the issue with Simbrief regarding insufficient fuel recommendation. I think they will say make sure your weights and distances are correct as per Simbrief plan, and also the weather, especially winds and temps.

Did you ever solve your flight temps issues from earlier posts? What you are describing again implies the same problem. Could I also suggest, as you are returning to the big girl, you carry out the tutorial flights and see if you have the same issues. This way, any item you may have missed, will be covered. When I returned to the MD11, I re-did the tutorials and was happy I did, due to the 777 being soooo different.

Hi Dan, I was hoping you would have said, "while beta testing the 747v2 I have tried some of these routes"' rather than saying, 'when we finally get into PMDG 747v2 beta testing",....So, the big girl is still in the factory and not released for flight testing!!!

I do not know if there is a fix as such. I only had the issue once, and when I re-ran the flight, it was not there, so...maybe one of those things! Can you reproduce the high temp flight? I use REX for the cloud graphics and ASN for my weather engine. Possibly some of the other guys may chime in who have had the issue and how(if?) they 'fixed' the high temp issue. As for the names...Stick it in the signature area of your profile, then you need not think about it again.

Hi Patrick, For some reason, the temps get too high for the altitude...they should, at FL340, some thing like -45...so if you saw zero or not much higher, then maybe temp is an issue. As I said earlier, turn off all weather, try a new flight, and see how she goes. I really like the MD11 in FEDEX paint. Remember to sign your full name in the PMDG forums....
