March 3, 201016 yr I've bought the Integrated Sim Avionics FMC pack, but having problems adding it to my aircraft. I've added the Friendly Panels one before, but wanted a more complex system, which this one is meant to be.Rather than instructions, it has some sample panels from other aircraft, but if I try to attempt this for my aircraft (DM Flightsim Trident), it isn't showing itself up. Can just about get a blank box.Thanks.
March 3, 201016 yr It's a bit of a faff to use the Integrated Sim stuff, since the instructions, as you say, are not the world's best. However, once you get your head around it, it's largely down to a bit of trial and error. Take a look on this thread from a while ago and scroll down a bit, you will see a post by me explaining how I put a lot of extra panels, and some of the Integrated Sim Avionics into a fairly basic Boeing Triple Seven (it is post number 23 on that thread):http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=255473&hl=Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

March 3, 201016 yr One thing you might want to try, assuming all your panel and model config file edits are correct, is plonking the Integrated Gauges in both the main FS gauges folder and the aircraft's panel folder. Theoretically, you shouldn't always have to do that, but theories aside, I've occasionally found that when adding panels and gauges to aircraft, it has proved necessary to enable the aircraft to 'find' the gauge when it loads up. The DBS profile radar that I put in my Ariane 737NG is one I had to do that with for example. You absolutely will not have wasted your money, and it will definitely be possible to use the gauges, you just have to make sure that your config edits are correct and that your gauges can be found by the config file when it loads up the aircraft. If it is not working, you will find that support for IS Avionics support is pretty good when you get in touch with the developer, so you might want to try emailing them or using their forum, which can be found here (although I realise you might have already tried that):http://isgsim.com/Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I posted on the forum, but looks like it doesn't get frequented. I emailed the developer, he sent a CFG back which also didn't work. There are already a few ISG gauges in the gauges folder. Not sure what's going on really.
March 3, 201016 yr What I suggest you try then, it to add the Integrated Gauges to one of the aircraft featured in the tutorials or sample files from ISG's website, such as a default FS aircraft, just to determine if that works. If you can get the gauges working on anything else in FS, you will know it is a cfg-related issue with your Trident, and will have narrowed the problem down a bit.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Looks like a waste of money.
March 4, 201016 yr What are you attempting to add and where? If you have FS Panel Studio it couldn't be easier to add a gauge to a 2D panel, but the virtual cockpit is another story.Jim Harnes

That is one avenue of investigation, and it points to the likelihood that your config files are fine and the installation of the gauges is not. so the next thing to try is making sure it is installed correctly. That would involve making sure it downloaded without corrupting, and that it installed correctly. You can get it working, you just have to determine what the problem is, and you are closer to discovering that now that you have eliminated it being a problem with the actual cfg file, so that really only leaves installation issues to be investigated. Don't give up when you are halfway there.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

March 4, 201016 yr By pure coincidence, I did actually reinstall most of my fancy gauge stuff the other day, as well as FSX (one of the joys of being a reviewer and needing clean FS installs all the time). So I checked where everything is currently installed, since I know the ISG gauges are working on my FSX.In the FSX folder there is an ISG folder with five sub folders in it, and seven other files including an ISG cfg file. In the FSX gauges folder, there are a couple of ISG GAU files, and that looks to be it. On the Windows 'Start' menu, under 'All Programs' and 'Simmarket' (where I bought the ISG gauges), there is an pop out for ISG FSX, where you should see 'Repair ISG' as an option. You might want to try that. The config file for the aircraft I have added gauges to is in the panel folder of the specific aircraft I want the gauges on. I know you probably are aware of that, but it is worth checking.Another thought occurs too. There are in fact two installer files for ISG, one for FSX and one for FS9. Make sure you installed both and selected the correct path to FS for each one if you have FSX and FS9 installed, and if you have only FSX, make sure you installed the FSX version.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Btw, I am grateful for your help whilst I try to sort this out.
March 4, 201016 yr Author I've no idea what I'm doing wrong. I've done this before with other stuff, but this isn't working.Just a thought, the Trident can be downloaded here for free http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/hs121_trident.htm
March 4, 201016 yr Okay, let's do a test. Open up the default Airbus A321 panel config file in Notepad, which you can probably find located here on your computer:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Airbus_A321\panelWhen you have that open, add the following line to the Window Titles:Window13=SMITHS_FMSThen, add this bit of text below all the other window info:[Window13]background_color=0,0,0window_size_ratio=1.0,1.0size_mm=410,645position=9visible=0ident=15372FSFKDevice=1gauge00=isg1!SMITHS_FMS_BR,0,0,410,645Hit Save, fire up FSX, load up any flight with the A321 and when it loads, go to the FSX menu and see if you can select the Smiths FMC as a pop up instrument panel. If that works, you know ISG is working, and if not, then something is not installed correctly.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 4, 201016 yr Author Ok, quite bizzare, (or not). As you suggested, I installed also the FS9 version. I hadn't done that before, as I'm only running FSX. Now the FMC pops up.It shouldn't be alot different to use than the other FMCs I'm used to, so I'll have to test it out and get back to you on this one. Thanks so far. :)
