I'm new on Windows 7. I installed FSX and everything was going so well, it all looked awesome.Then I tried to install FSinn and FScopilot and was getting a missing file error. So I sorted that, now FSX will not load, it just freezes.I've checked for corrupt log book but it reports that is ok.Any ideas?

No gain in FPS doesn't sell it to me, unless you already had 30 plus FPS.

Is anyone here using SSD for FSX? Any reliability issues?Also, is it really THAT much faster? Noticable gains in FPS?

It's very odd that it only happens when I want to swap out one AP for another. Very odd.

This is a strange one for us. As soon as I select to engage the AP, it disconnects.

Yeah I did all that, the panel shows, but doesn't do anything. When I select it, I get the sound that occurs when the AP would be disconnected.

I use the DM Flight Sim model of the Comet 4, do you know how that compares with this?

I'm hoping captain sim sort this aircraft out. I bought it years back and haven't managed to fly it properly due to stupid bugs.

Just to add, the reason for wanting to swapping over the autopilots is regarding alitidude. The current AP only holds the altitude, any climb or descent must be made manually, not a massive problem, but I'm trying to change it to an AP where I can select the vertical speeds for a nice smooth climb or descent.

Well if you mean the autopilot entries such as autopilot_available=1 etc, then yes that's already there from the original autopilot. What I'm basically looking to do, is replace one autopilot with another.The autopilot panel comes up, but it disengages right away when I try to switch it on.

I've just tried the Puma from Hovercontrol, it's nowhere near as good as the Merlin, good job it was a freebie.

I love the EH101 that comes with FSX acceleration.Are there any payware helicopters out there that are much like the EH101 that are really good?I've been looking at the AS332 Super Puma, has anyone here got that? Is it worth the money?

Air traffic control usually tell you when to turn, plus when flying an instrument approach, the HSI will show you your positioning to the localiser. And you could tune into a VOR you've passed if that's a part of the STAR, if you wish to monitor DME.

Just wondering why after adding a repaint I did, why I can't get the name of the aircraft to be as I desire. In the aircraft.cfg, I have renamed the aircraft in the the title line of the particular model, first line of [fltsim.xx]. But it still comes up with the default name in the list, rather than as with the other aircraft, the individual name for that livery.Any ideas? Thanks.Edit: Sorted, I forgot to change the line starting uni_variation.

How do you get the detail and sharpness? I'm using DTX and Photoshop, like you, but I lose the detail and sharpness of a good livery that I've just edited and converted back.

Another thing I've noticed is, after the edit, the parts of the aircraft that I didn't edit, such as some writing on the aircraft and the outline of the windows, has lost its detail. Looking blury rather than sharp as it were before. Why would this be? Thanks.

Yeah, there must have been an alpha issue. I've sinced refreshed the alpha, but it's taking a while for any update to appear in FSX right away, which is odd. But I'm getting there.

I've attempted myself on a repaint of the Wilco A340-600. Now, what I did was basically edit the bitmap in Photoshop, save a new textures folder and of course add that to the CFG. Now, what the problem is, which I can't work out, is that the bitmaps that I have edited, now appear to be a shiney metal colour on the aircraft rather than what I had intended. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
