March 14, 201016 yr I have had this issue for some years and have so far just lived with it, as there is no impact on the aircraft itself, but maybe it's easily fixed? All my addon aircraft (as far as I can see, I may be wrong - but it's widespread if not)) suffer from the fact that when the engines are running the rudder wobbles rapidly from side to side all the time. When I switch engines off, it stops. I can also stop it by loading a default aircraft (e.g. Cessna) and then reloading the original plane. It is nothing to do with my Saitek X52 I think, as it happens whether that is plugged in or not.Anyone any ideas about this? Not sure for 'wobble' which settings in the aircraft.cfg might need changing (if any).Thank you,Martin S. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)

Does it happen with any of the default a/c? If so, one of your addons may have corrupted an a/c file, in which case a FS reinstall may be in order.
March 14, 201016 yr Author Thanks, but it's not that. As I have so many addon aircraft (over 43 GBs worth in total) I don't keep them in the FS9/aircraft folder in any case, I move the folders in as I use them, then take them out again after the flight (this cuts loading times considerably). When I install a new a/c, that will usually have the same wobble (I haven't done enough detailed troubleshooting of this to say whether all, or just many of my a/c suffer from this. Default a/c (like 'Soar Airlines b747) have the same wobble, yes. When you say an 'a/c file' may have been corrupted, which might you mean? As this happens, as I say, with newly installed a/c, I don't think that could be the case - I am not sure what relevant 'a/c file' would be common to all aircraft.Although I have my FS setup well backed up, a complete reinstall would only happen if my system totally crashed - with all the online reregistration of software I'd have to do (inc. a number of companies who don't respond too rapidly to such requests) it'd be a real nightmare!!Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)

SB one of the FS system files files, and yes, a reinstall would be quite a task for you! :(
March 14, 201016 yr Hello, I can also stop it by loading a default aircraft (e.g. Cessna) and then reloading the original plane.Dunno if you make it .. but the best thing to do (for avoid problems with addon's planes and particulary paywares planes) is to load first .. a default plane .. like the Cessna 172 and load after that the addon AC.Sometime you can also have rudder wobble with a plane equiped with (and activated) a yaw limiter or yaw damper (I forget the exact name used .. but you certainly understand) but this dissapear when you begin the take off.Regards.Gus.
March 14, 201016 yr Moderator Turn off the bloody Yaw Damper! That is what is causing the "rudder wobble" you are seeing...Since the C172 doesn't HAVE a Yaw Damper, of course that is turned "off" when you load it into the sim. March 15, 201016 yr Author I don't usually switch on the Yaw Damper until take-off - some payware a/c indicate a warning if it's not switched on (as would be the case in some a/c in the real world of course). Not sure off the top of my head which a/c have a Yaw Damper modelled - but I'll certainly look at this and say what happens. Could be some of my flights are loading with YD enabled even though I always start up from Cold & Dark cockpit. Thanks Bill,Martin.. and thanks too Gus!! :-) Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
March 15, 201016 yr Author OK Bill, I turned off the 'bloody' Yaw Damper - didn't realise it was set to be on in various flights I have saved. That fixes the problem (as you most confidently predicted it would!!).Thanks again,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
