March 15, 201016 yr Reading the review of GEX Europe, I was struck that the biggest improvement seemed to be the night textures for cities (e.g. http://www.avsim.com/pages/0310/Flight1/paris2nitecomp.jpg). I've always hated--with a passion--the silly looking, much too orange, night city lights in FSX. GEX appears to make them a much more realistic off white-yellow. Unfortunately, as much as I like the new effect, it's not enough for me to justify buying GEX. So my question is, do you know of any freeware textures that accomplish the same night lighting for cities? I took a look for such a thing a little while back but couldn't find anything (partly because it's hard to formulate a search). Thanks,James

June 10, 201015 yr There is a lot more to GEX than the lighting. It is almost essential if you typically fly in North America or Europe.
