March 18, 201016 yr I recently installed Toni Agramont's Dominican Republic scenery and found a problem with the airport at Constanza. Now I did email the author sending screen shots of the problem but never received an answer. I hope he is working on a fix.The problem is that on each side of the runway the aircraft sinks into the ground and falls below the runway with blue sky and a second runway below (Pic 1&2) Then it pops up onto the runway (pic 3) and then does the same thing on the other side. until the aircraft 'pops' up on the ground again. The runway and the apron are fine except on getting close to the runway. The ends of the runway do not exhibit the same problem. I'm not sure how to fix this myself. I believe it needs a flatten but unsure as the rest of the scenery is fine. As I mentioned, this just occurs in a short section on each side of the runway.Hope someone can resolve or fix the problem. The file for this scenery is: dominican_republic.zip here at AVSIM.Jim D.
March 18, 201016 yr Hello Jim,That happened to me also! Pretty funny. The problem is due to an incorrect default airport elevation - if a new correct airport is placed there, the old elevation is still used for everything but the runway (since there is no taxiway.)I have a pretty complete fix, including new airport elevation, layout, and also land class (since everything around there is mostly farmland or pine forest on the slopes) and even mesh. Glad to send it to you if you provide an address, any address.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

March 19, 201016 yr Something you can try, if you have ADE installed, is run ADE9 and open the AFCAD bgl, then run the elevation change tool, raise the elevation .1, click OK and then run the tool a second time and return it back to as found. When you compile the file ADE will create an "elevation change" stub file and place into your scenery\world\scenery folder and that should fix it. You can throw away the "main" bgl ADE creates (assuming you don't need to edit the AFCAD at all).scott s..
March 19, 201016 yr The problem is a little different here, Scott. Default elevation is about 1170 meters, real elevation is over 1200 meters. So, when you sink in the ground, you go down quite a ways!Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
March 23, 201016 yr Author Well, I've emailed Toni twice now regarding the problem with his Dominican Republic scenery and the Constanza airport including the comments from those you here at AVSIM who did so. Sadly, I have not received any response. I would have hoped he would have taken an interest in this as he is the author. Oh well, I don't fly here enough to worry about it, so I'll leave it alone here. Thanks to those who tried to help.Jim D.

What I meant was, let's say the author realized this, and supplied a file with the airport elevation set to 1200m and of course you fall off the runway. Just loading that file into ADE doesn't do anything, but if you use the change elevation tool you can create the elevation stub file. Assuming that the 1200m is in fact correct, you can get ADE to do that by changing the elevation to 1200.1, then changing it a second time back to 1200. This creates the stub airport @ 1200m without having to do anything manually. This assumes you don't need a revised flatten airport background.scott s..
