March 20, 201016 yr I had such a wonderful flight last night, that I wanted to share. Now, this kind of thing is probably old hat for most of you, but for a noob pilot, this was a great moment in my young career. Add-ons involved: REX 2.0, FTX-PNW, L39 AlbatrossSettings: 1920x1080, 4xAA, 16xAF, vsync on. My FSX scenery settings . I was getting 50+ FPS (specs in sig), blissful.I took off from Newport, OR (KONP), and flew along the pacific coastline to Seattle. The sun was setting over the Pacific, and I was cruising around 10,000 feet. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. I had made my flight plan in FSX, but pulled the flight line out to create a middle waypoint, so that I was flying up the coast. I shot a couple of videos, around 2 minutes each. They both have 1080p options so choose full-screen and 1080p for best effect! The cameras were all created from scratch in EZCA. My roof cam was pretty cool in flight, but I regret switching to it for part of the landing video. Over the Oregon coast: (original youtube page so you can go full-screen) The landing in Seattle: (original youtube page for full-screen)I was pretty happy with my landing. I'm pretty new at this, and I was on full realism, so it felt pretty good. Granted there was no wind or weather :( i7-920 @ 3.2ghz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 @ 1600 mhz | GTX 580 1.5 GB | 1TB WD; 750GB WD | X-Fi Audio | 24" Dell LCD | X52 Flight Controller | REX-GEX-UTX-FTX

March 20, 201016 yr I can hear your yawns through the web browser :(zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzI fell asleep half way through your second video.... :( Just joshing with you...Thanks for posting. That L-39 is such a nice plane, eh? In fact your video inspired me to take mine up to do a few circuits. I liked your roof cam. I've not purchased EZCA yet - still on the fence - but it definitely seems to add something. We're spoilt for choice these days, that's for certain.Ian
March 20, 201016 yr Commercial Member Great videos; love the L-39, one of my faves. Cheers, John Venema
March 21, 201016 yr Nice videos, but you aren't using any of the EZdok camera effects! You've obviously got a couple of views setup, but none of the random turbulence, dynamic head movements, or camera "resonance"...
March 21, 201016 yr Author Nice videos, but you aren't using any of the EZdok camera effects! You've obviously got a couple of views setup, but none of the random turbulence, dynamic head movements, or camera "resonance"...I think you're right! I created all the cameras from scratch, and I guess I didn't enable those. Obviously, I'm still learning, heh. Thanks for the, er ... head's up! :( i7-920 @ 3.2ghz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 @ 1600 mhz | GTX 580 1.5 GB | 1TB WD; 750GB WD | X-Fi Audio | 24" Dell LCD | X52 Flight Controller | REX-GEX-UTX-FTX
March 23, 201016 yr Author Bliss 2.0 ... now with 100% more volcano!I wanted to share the next step on my road to the Oscars (haha):Mount St Helen's Fly-byFor full effect, choose 1080p and go fullscreen. In this one, I am flying my current favorite plane, the Mooney M20J (VC and exterior are repaints available from FTX freeware) and approaching Mount St Helens from the south. I'm bending around to it's facing, where all the rock was blown away back in 1980. In use:REX 2.0Mooney M20J payware aircraftFTX Pacific NW sceneryLook at what an amazing job FTX did with this scenery. Truly breathtaking. this is only my 2nd video, and first using proper editing software, and I expect to get better in the future. I have a lot of ideas on how to improve, and am also open to any constructive criticism. i7-920 @ 3.2ghz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 @ 1600 mhz | GTX 580 1.5 GB | 1TB WD; 750GB WD | X-Fi Audio | 24" Dell LCD | X52 Flight Controller | REX-GEX-UTX-FTX
April 5, 201016 yr Author Ok, in retrospect, the above videos were pretty bad :) Well, the L39 vid is ok, if a bit mechanical.I've been getting pointers from Jigsaw, and he's helped me a lot. Here is my latest:Heart in San Francisco (2:53)For some reason, this one only upped to 480p, so it'd probably look better in the default youtube window size.I think you'll notice a slight improvement over the Mt St Helen's video :( i7-920 @ 3.2ghz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 @ 1600 mhz | GTX 580 1.5 GB | 1TB WD; 750GB WD | X-Fi Audio | 24" Dell LCD | X52 Flight Controller | REX-GEX-UTX-FTX
