March 23, 201016 yr Hello, I am about to install a new driver for my 8800GTX OC card, following the procedure dated from Feb. of this year, is it possible that there are 2.95 GB in the add/remove -under nVidia drivers that have to be removed ? Using FSXThank you
March 23, 201016 yr No clue, but I go into hardware management and choose "remove" under gpu. Then use driver sweep to clear out remnants of the driver that will linger and may cause issues, then a solid defrag with Smart Defrag or some other non-native defragger. The uninstall probably includes nVidia control center, that could account for the amount of memory. "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"

March 23, 201016 yr Sorry I hit the wrong key. NVIDIA DISPLAY CONTROL PANEL 96.2MB NVIDIA DRIVERS 2.95GB NVIDIA PHYSX 83.7mbI haven't upgraded in over a year. Had to because one of my 8800GTX OC cards in SLI stopped working and it was suggested to update the drivers. I use Vista 32 bit - 4 gig - quad core 9650 @3ghz 4gig memory
March 24, 201016 yr What is your concern exactly? "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
March 24, 201016 yr This is my 3rd try, to get it to post. Thank you for responding. My concern is, is 2.95GB a high number for being listed. The new drivers are less then 100MB. If you were to check your computer in the add/delete program, next to NVIDIA DRIVERS does it show 2.95GB. I have nothing to compare it to, and was wondering if I did something wrong in past, or is your number similair to it so I don't have to worry about unistalling it.Thank you
March 24, 201016 yr Actually my three nVidia contents are blank with regards to size, I tried to display more info via hardware management, but no such luck. I have never ever looked at the size of the drivers, have never encountered, that the size of it should have any impact on your deletion and new installment. So, I wouldn "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
March 25, 201016 yr To Crewecut, no matter what program I use they all show up in the same order and sizes. My only concern was the 2.95GB. Before I add anything major to the computer, I do clean it up, including the last restore point, then create a new one, reboot the system, and then add whatever. So far I haven't had any problems. Its almost 9 pm now so I won't get to it till late morning. I will let you know what happens if your interested. Again, thank you all for being interested.mack

March 25, 201016 yr Sure, give us a heads up :-) "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
March 25, 201016 yr I have changed the drivers with no problems. After uninstalling the drivers and running drive cleaner NVIDIA DRIVERS went down to 508KB. After installing the new drivers it went up to 2.97GB, so I guess the number was in the ball park. How ever there is now another line -NVIDIA Steroscopic 3D Drivers 13.5MB that was never there before. I used 196.21 drivers, went to Nvidia, they were the latest one's for my cards. So the bottom line is I was woried for nothing. Thanks again for your input and concern.mack
March 27, 201016 yr Commercial Member Windows XP's Add/Remove size listings are bugged - long time and well known issue. It misreports the size of almost everything, just ignore it. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
