JS41 suddenly not works

Featured Replies

Something strange happened today. The plane was perfectly OK yesterday but when I loaded it today all displays are black and animations for throttle and condition levers are not working. I tried deleting fsx.cfg and everything wasOK again until I changed display resolution. I also tried reinstalling aircraft but that didn't help.Grzegorz Furmanski

Complete reinstall of FSX solved problem. Wasn't that painful, I only have 3 addon planes and one scenery so it only took 30 minutes.G. Furmanski

Grzegorz, next time it happens try running the installer and selecting repair. Make sure the C++ redistributals are repaired. That is often the problem with black displays.

Sorry to say it all suddenly came back. black displays when engines running, cant move throttle levers. Only thing I installed was Radar Contact. Tried reinstalling Visual C++, and aircraft and still not working. I don't want to reinstall FSX again. Any ideas what else I may try?Grzegorz Furmanski

If repair isn't working you have to open a trouble ticket at the pmdg support portal. They can get you sorted out.

I did but I just asked anyway.BTW how do you use a repair? I tried running V1.0 and it told me I have later installed and then it quit. So I tried running patch and it just installed again, I didn't se repair anywhere.Grzegorz Furmanski

Hey guy,I had the same problem with my J41 and md-11, try installing fsx sp1, sp1, if you already have it re install it. OR re-install fsx in all, with regedit.

Reinstalling Acceleration didn't help. removing it and installing sp1 and sp2 didn't help.Grzegorz Furmansko

If you have Acceleration you should not install FSX SP2. Acceleration includes SP2. Reinstalling SP1 has never been reported as a solution, I find it interesting that noname recommends it. However, reinstalling SP2 (or Acceleration) has helped. If it came back, was that after installing something else?I'm not an expert, but when I run my latest JS41 installer I get a repair option so I'm lost as to why you can't. Please try a trouble ticket at the pmdg support portal. There's an expert there and maybe in the meantime one with a better idea will come by in the forum.

You didn't understand. I removed Acceleration completly and instead installed SP1 followed by SP2 (as per PMDG instructions in their support centre).I have JS41 1.0 and the patch, when trying to install patch it just asks if I want to reinstall, nothing about repairing.Anyway, after waiting for reply for 12 hours I just removed FSX and reinstalled everything again and it works. I have few more addons than last time but it still took only about 1 hour. But I'd like to know if there's a solution for this problem that doesn't require complete reinstall of everything.Grzegorz Furmanski

Hard to say since we didn't isolate the problem. Could have been any number of things. I am still wondering why your installer will not provide a repair option. Interesting.
