Hi Guys, I have recently started getting CTD's with the fault module described as gdiplus.dll. I have googled and found it may be font related, but have no idea how that may relate to my FSX install, which was very stable before. It seems to happens particularly when you do anything involving a drop down or window on the screen. anuone have any ideas as to how to solve?cheers,Mark

Hi Mark!Do you get this error with default FSX settings, scenery and aircraft? To rule out any conflicting add on you could:

  1. Disable all add on modules/programs in the file dll.xml and exe.xml (if you have one).
  2. Disable all add on sceneries.
  3. Move (or rename) your fsx.cfg file and let FSX create a new one.
  4. Revert any overclock of your CPU/RAM and GPU and run your system on default speeds.

If the problem is gone, you may enable one disabled item at a time to try to isolate the cause. Time consuming, but might work.

Haven't seen this dll error for a long time. I did a keyword search on this forum for gdiplus.dll and it appears this was an issue with the LDS767. The gauges were coded to use this dll.Best regards,Jim

Hi Guys, I have recently installed the ezdoc camera add on, wideview and FSUIPC. I have also got errors referencing g3d.dll and simconnect.dll. Also now the crash occurs any time, instead of when a drop down window is closed. I have uninstalled wideview, moved my FSUIPC folder to desktop and also started FSX without ezca camera mod. I still get the issue. Ulf, you refer to the dme.xml and dll.xml, where are these found? How best to disbale the add ons here? I did seem to manage to fly missions in the F-18 using standard scenery without any problems last night.Cheers,Mark

I refer to dll.xml and exe.xml. The later file may not exist - depends on if any exe file add on is installed. The dll.exe and exe.xml file is located in the same folder as your fsx.cfg file. Locate the first apperance of <Disabled>False</Disabled> in the file and change to <Disabled>True</Disabled>. This will disable all add on entries in the file. But after your additional information I would first test to remove any overclock and any exotic fsx tweak to test if the problem is caused by an instable system. Go back to a none overclocked system, rename your fsx.cfg file and let fsx rebuild it. Make sure that your default fsx installation and system is stable and not causing your problem.

Hi Guys, mixed results. I have run memory and also CPU , chipset and motherboerd diagnostics and test, found no issues. I have updated my install of windows. last night, i managed to run FSX for 15 hours non stop with no errors, but today, it freezes every 10 minutes or so with the gdiplus.dll error again. This is using any scenery or .cfg file.I have been reading up on the web about the gdiplus.dll file. Does anyone know where you would expect to find this file apart from the winsysx folder? Should it be in FSX anywhere? Does FSX use in anywhere? Cheers, Mark

I have an update: I have narrowed the crash down to a single flight plan when using TileProxy. I can fly a different plan in the same area and have no crash. What on earth would cause that ? No other scnery loaded, no weather, same plane.....Cheers,Mark
