March 29, 201016 yr Commercial Member Hi all,As I may need to get a new video card for my PC, Im tempted to go with Nvidia again. My previous ATI did not cope well at all with cloud graphics. Cant remember which model it was but it seemed (about a year ago, at the time) to be a general issue with ATI cards.Any latest advice from people who my have recently purchased either?Thankseric
March 29, 201016 yr Many people with Radeon 5850 and 5870 cards have stated that the framerate drop in clouds is no longer an issue. This could mean that there is still a framerate drop but that the drop is not enough to cause framerates to hit unplayable levels. Keep in mind Nvidia's new GTX 400 series just launched and we have yet to see FSX numbers. Cards won't be available until April 12th, though, and will likely sell out quickly and become unavailable for a number of weeks after that.
March 29, 201016 yr I would ask around about the ATI cloud problem. I don't think the newer cards have that problem. And my 4870 didn't.
