Long Haul CG

Featured Replies

Hi all,Here is something hopefully you can help me with. I

Subin, full name please. Be careful adjusting CG that the loadmaster creates because there are limits both full and empty of fuel, which you discovered. If the moment seems high but is within range then you should fly it. A high MAC value is no worse than a low one, in fact it might be a little more efficient in cruise depending on how it affects elevator lift.

Hi Dan,Thanks for the reply. Only when I shifted about 20 pax forward, the TOCG and ZFWCG then became within limits. But the reduction in fuel during flight is what caused the CG to rise. So to simulate that, I moved the fuel slider down in the Load Manager and just like the actual flight, the CG peaked at a above limits percentage and then decreased again as the fuel was reduced to near zero.So the moral of the story is that in the Load Manager you not only have to be within limits with the static fuel loaded, but the limit has to be maintained even when you simulate reducing fuel all the way to 0 kg.While I'm here, the manual wasn't entirely clear on the H vs L Fuel Distribution - does this relate to the order in which tanks are loaded during refuelling, or does also relate to the way fuel is supplied to the engines during flight as well? Thanks again,Subin Jacob.

It's been way to many months since I've read about H distribution. checkairman will know this off the top of his head, or you can do a search. H has a higher TOGW and slightly different CG envelope and I think it has to do with how it is reallocated between tanks.
