Short pauses when descending

Featured Replies

Hey guys, thought everything was going great with FSX. Installed Active sky evolution a few days ago and now I cannot complete a flight without getting short, 1 to 2 second pauses when I descend below 10,000 ft (or any low altitude). Switching drivers and did not help, rebuilt fsx.cfg config, no help. Have had success with the bufferpools=o thread and mainly followed those instructions. Has anybody run into this type of problems yet? I'm trying to pinpoint some causes but figured while I do that, maybe somebody has found a solution already. Here's a video that describes it a bit better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmyY_0fExCQDecreasing FSX settings does nothing. Running CS757, LVLD 767, PMDG 747. It SEEMS that when I closed ASE, the stutters/pauses go away. Not sure what to get from that. All ASE settings are default. Here are some settings that may be of help.TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=70[bufferpools]poolsize=0LOD_RADIUS=4.500000MESH_COMPLEXITY=100MESH_RESOLUTION=22TEXTURE_RESOLUTION=29NHancer settings:All set to Nick's guide post except I turned vertical sync off, and Prerender limit to 1. These settings found in the bufferpool thread seemed to cure my corrupted texture problems so I'll try resetting them back and seeing what happens. Sound drivers are updated to latest. Thanks for your help guys!

I watched your video and saw you had commented that you got it fixed by lowering your texture bandwidth multi to 40.Had you not go it fixed, I was going to ask if you were getting the pauses when approaching FSDT sceneries because they will sometime cause those slight pauses on approach as scenery objects load. Another addon that can cause it a little is Ultimate Traffic 2, depending on how far you have your settings for AI to appear.Glad you got it fixed, but I am curious as to what ground textures those are in the video, or what scenery that is that may include those ground textures? In the video they look really nice. I figured they were some photo real textures but they dont look familiar.

Still have to do more testing but was able to complete a few flights last night with no problem. My biggest problem was the corrupted textures issue, but it seems vertical sync and lowering the prerender limit to 1 solved those problems. Lowering the TBM to 40 from 70 and running BP=0 seemed to fix these short pauses for me. Actually I was just flying into the default KMCO airport, no special textures. Just using GEX and UTX.
