RC4 Resume?

Featured Replies

After RC4 crashes, I have to close and restart it. Is there a way to make RC4 to resume the Flight at the point where my AC is instead of forcing me back to the begining of my flight???

maybe we should figure out why rc crashes, first. what is the error? most rc errors are easily corrected.and yes, you could regulary save .rcd files, say every time you contact a new controller. then you could reload from the last controller.that might be complicated by any special aircraft you might be flying.jd

Hello JDThe error reappeared again."Run Time Error 6 RC.FSUIPC.RC4 code". Which I need to close and restart RC4. How do I disable RC4 from starting my flight from the beginning. All I want to do is restart RC4 load flt plan. When I resume to my current position in FS, I can choose DIR TO WAYPOINT in RC4 menu and continue flying without starting from beginning and messsing up a complex panel setting.

Bill,FSUIPC also includes a module called AutoStart (autostart.dll) which, if placed in your modules sub-folder will save the flight every x minutes. x can be configured via autostart.ini also in the modules folder. I think from memory it's about every 5 minutes. You can point RC to the last saved autosave flight. It will have a name like AutosaveThu1815.flt where the flight was saved today at 1815hrs. Load FS and place your aircraft on the ground somewhere. Then start RC and load the last saved Autosave flt and you can resume from just before RC crashed. But as JD said earlier we need to establish why RC is crashing. Prevention is always better than cure. Please post which version of FSUIPC you are running. 'The latest' is not an acceptable response. :(

FSUIPC =4.6.0.0Your solution requires me to restart FS. If I want to do that I might as well start everything from scratch. All I want is to restart RC and resume by telling RC to catch up to where I'm at in FS.

Good, latest version. :-)

Let's suppose RC crashes 50 miles from New York on a flight from London. How can restarting from a few minutes before that point not be worth it? That is the only way RC can resume a flight. What you're suggesting is not possible. But we still need to identify why RC is crashing. If you want to resolve this you need to log the flight and send it to JD. Please see the instructions in the locked topic in the forum posts.
