I have to select my 285 today, advice please

XFX seems to be the better choice. Overclocking doesn't really matter if you'll be using it with FSX/FS9, and you can usually OC it yourself if you need to.Specs on the XFX look better and from what I hear have a great warranty program. Not too familiar with MSI but I have seen a lot of cheaper product produced by them which keeps me away from the brand.

Both are great cards. My 285 is from XFX and it's fantastic. Look at my overclock on stock cooling and auto fan speed: 702/1584/2774. That's over 173 GB/s memory bandwidth. Even the latest and greatest GTX 480 card doesn't surpass this. That being said MSI has made some fantastic and nicely overclockable graphics cards as of late, and I have no problem recommending them. They used to be the value brand, now they're playing right up there with the big dogs. MSI's Lightning series in particular happen to be some of the most overclockable graphics cards on the planet.

EVGA has best technical support and warranty.

Are you gonna purchase the 1GB or 2GB model of the GTX-285 ?

Asus Rampage II Extreme X58, i7 920 @4 GHz, 12GB RAM OCZ Platinum @1.646MHz 7-7-7-20 (1T), Noctua NH-U12P SE1366, Sapphire HD-5870 Vapor-X , 30" Dell @2560x1600 pixel, SSD Intel X-25 M for OS, 1 TB WD Caviar Green for FSX, be quiet Dark Power Pro P7 650W AT, Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion + Teufel 5.1 Surround Set, LG Blu-Ray-ROM LG DVD+/-RW, Aerocool FP-01 Flip-Panel, Lian Li ARMORSUIT P60 black, Windows7 64bit Ultimate.
