Eaglesoft CitationX v2 FMC help

Featured Replies

Boy, I'm having a BAD day. I've spent most of the day trying to figure out how to correctly program the FMS in my newly acquired Citation X v2. I tried to run thru the "FMS Quick Start Guide" but got stuck ,then spent the last 5 hours trying to get the "sample" flight from KLAS to KLAX programed. They do say that to do this I should already know how to program the FMS/FMC ,which I don't. Trying to go step by step, "monkey see monkey do" did NOT work for me because they left OUT some steps which I guess they thought that I knew, but didn't. There are also videos on YOU TUBE that is supposed to help, but I don't know which one is supposed to be the best way to learn it for a beginner. On the sample flight from KLAS to KLAX I have progressed as far as the right side of figure 9 of the sample guide, which is page 2/4 of the "Active Flight Plan". They then say ,"Select NEXT BUTTON to scroll through the Plan Way Point pages to 4/10. ? I looked up this flight on my installed Garmin 500 GPS and there were NO way points. Just a straight flight from KLAS to KLAX. Here's the missing step. When you key the NEXT key it only takes you to page 4/4 of the Active Flight Plan and not to page 4/10 like they say?????Anyone know what the next step should be?What is the best "sample" to use to try to learn this FMS? And where would it be found?Another crazy thing. When I started this sample flight with the engines OFF, I started the APU to give me power while I was trying to learn this ( about 45 minutes at a try). Before I finished trying to program the FMS the gauges went BLACK/BLANK. Should not the APU supply enough power to use the FMS ? The only way I could find to keep the power on was to start the engines and keep them running at idle while I was programing the FMS. One last problem. I know the Eagle Soft "man" reads this forum from time to time. (sorry, I don't remember his name).I tried to "register at the Eagle Soft Forum but it appears that I have already registered but I can't remember my user name nor password. It also said my email address was already used. Had to have been me. Could you (Eagle Soft rep) tell me how to get into the forum again or how to re-register. I went round and around but got no where. I'm hoping that tomorrow is a better day. jerrycwo4 :(

Ok, first suggestion... update the navdata. Honest. The version they allow us to release with is very, very old. We have videos on YouTube, made by a type-rated Citation X pilot to teach how to use the FMS. Hopefully Ron can get your forum access squared away. I think they'll be of great help.

You have to follow the checklists to get the crosstie closed. Your left battery went dead on you.

Thanks for the replies. Ron is going to try to get me back on the Eaglesoft form. I dont have a clue in the world what all of this " navdata" is all about. I'm way, way over my head !!! Been flying fight sims for 12 years and never had to deal with that subject and dont know what it means, right now. I'll have to research that and fix that problem and then go from there. Thanks again for your help. jerrycwo4

See...Ron, Ed, and Bill, ..I thought that this might happen...Maybe a training course or something...Pay per View?Mark

Ha Ha, the concept is sound but we aren't interested in getting into the training business.Imagine an FS "Flight Safety" type program with appropriate fees charged. A one week commitment to daily classes and curriculum. :(
