April 9, 201016 yr I'm using the now outdated FSUIPC 4.54 registered version and came to the conclusion that I should think about upgrading (primarily because the installer for the new VRS F/A-18E told me so) to the new version 4.60. I have quite a few custom controls assigned through FSUIPC and was wondering how I go about installing FSUIPC so that I do not lose these (that could make me cry). Do I just install like normal or should I copy something for backup? And what about any custum .ini settings (like the use JOYNAMES=yes)? Thanks. Eric Szczesniak

Thanks.I think the installer preserves your settings, but to be sure make a copy of fsuipc.ini in the FSX\Modules folder. Thanks.FSUIPC's installation has never touched any of your settings. It merely replaces the program itself (the DLL) and updates the documentation. The latest installers put all the documentation and extra bits (like Lua plug-ins info and examples) into a Modules sub-folder called "FSUIPC Documents". Your settings (the INI file) and your Registration (the KEY file) are untouched -- unless, in the case of Registration, you decide to re-register or delete your registration, two of the Installer options. Then of course the KEY file will be updated or deleted.Note that after installing any major update, from the usual website, you may wish to install the latest interim version, from the Announcements on my Support Forum. Just read the notes there (in the "Updates and other Goodies" announcement) to see if any of the changes may affect you or be useful to you.RegardsPete Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz.
