737-600/700 - settings problem

Featured Replies

Hi,I'm trying to install the PMDG 737-600/700 The Next Generation but when I launch the setup.exe file I have the following error message: INSTALLATION CANNOT CONTINUE. YOUR REGISTRY DOES NOT SHOW A VALID FS9 INSTALLATION LOCATION Could you please help me to solve the issue? Thanks

One thought. Are you using the No-Hack CD (not using the FS CD) when starting FS9.1?

Best Regards,

I'm using the FSX that has already been installed. No problems when I installed other PMDG products (i.e. 747 or others)

The PMDG 737 for FSX has not been released yet.

As far as I know PMDG 737 (6-700 or 8-900) will not run on FSX- it is only compatible with FS9. Is your 747, the version for FSX by any chance?A lot of us are waiting for the new PMDG 737 and hoping- perhaps praying, that it will be released for both sims.Alex Reid

JP, Yes- I hear you. But watching the daily lists of files uploaded to AVSIM library, there is obviously still much interest in FS9. The daily upload ratio is typically 2,5 or 10 to 1 for FS9 vs X. That seems like a pretty good indicator that 9 is alive and well. And it's confirmed by the AVSIM survey data. What we don't know, is how many simmers- both FS9 & Xers, actually bought PMDG X products but subsequently stayed with or reverted to 9. PMDG sales info may have been skewed by new product euphoria. How many bought Combo deals- only to ultimately stick with 9?Now, quite recent system addons have brought FS9 up pretty close to the eye appeal of FSX.Given the huge advantage in addon choices for 9, no one really knows at this time how big the market actually is for 737 NG - FSX only. The market may be more fragmented than anyone knows.I'm still inclined to continue daily prayers!Alex Reid

well,I love beating dead horses (yeah,I know, but ah it's a family ah thing! :( )so here goes :I think the majority of FS9 users these days are those new to the hobbythat did not get FSX to work satisfactorily. Also,I would love to see the age distribution,as a lot of the FS9 users seem young. As for PMDG,I understand they want to move on,it is just business, and business is about money these days, even in Flightsim. However,I do question if they did already code for the FS9 NGX and if so,if it isn't a waste letting that code go nowhere.
