April 13, 201016 yr Hi all, I am using the PMDG 737-800 and trying to learn to fly a simple route from EGBB to EGPF but am having a problem understanding how to plot the route. Here's my problem. I am using the latest AIRACS (1004)1. Using Routefinder for EGBB to EGPF I get the following: EGBB SID TNT UN57 POL UN601 MARGO STAR EGPF. 2. I input this into the FMC and choose the LANA1A Star which according the the EGPF charts is appropriate from Margo. 3. I then select ILS23 as the approach but it then says a disco is inserted after LANAK and before CI23.If I could just understand what I am looking for, and how to close this DISCO I feel like I can nail any FMC planning. Please can you pool your collective wisdom to help this newbie? :-)Darren WhitehouseFlying Tigers Group (AF042)

Did you try to delete the disco? George Morris
April 13, 201016 yr Hello Darren,If you've tried to delete the DISCO and you've been unsuccesful, then, either there is a minor error in the STAR or it is put there on purpose according to the procedure. I'm not familiar with EGPF so I can't say anything for sure. Under certain circumstances the FMC will produce DISCOs, I don't remember them all but they can be corrected by editing the txt file. Also, not all files that come with the Airacs are 100% accurate. If you'd find it interesting to edit them manually, you can find an excellent tutorial here: (it's fairly easy!)http://planepath.com/html/pmdg_utilities.htmlFYI, Terry's procedures are excellent too.As an alternative you can find more here:http://www.navdata.at/php/sidstar/dl_list.phpHope this helps :(EDIT: You can also post your question in the Terminal Procedures forum, if you want:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showforum=230 Onur K. April 14, 201016 yr Terry's procedures are current, I wouldn't go near the ones at navdata because Stefan has not allowed those to be updated since he had to join Navigraph several years ago and they are all at least that old.Looking at the PLN view of the path using the LEGS page of the FMS will usually reveal immediately the problem with discos that cannot be closed. Usually due to one fix being after the next instead of before or there not being an intercept between fixes. Look at the picture. Dan Downs KCRP

All I had to do was copy the waypoint to the scratchpad then transfer to the DISCO and it tied it all together. Simple when you know how :-(!!!
