Could you elaborate a bit more Norman, Im a little confused, you want RC5 to simulate volcanic eruptions or are you asking that RC5 can forbid you from flying in an area reporting volcanic ash. Being grounded does not sound like to much fun for me. :(

Hi Ian,It was the ability to ,in mid flight if required, to divert for incidents like todays real world happenings the the Northern Europe control area.Is the choice to smimulate problems going to be extended and will ATC issue the relevant instructions.Norman Bowman

you can do that in v4.3 today. you should load at least one alternate everytime you load a plan. two is even better. mike collier, a real-world employee of an airline, who does flight planning everyday. he explained the thoughts that go into planning alternate airports. you want them far enough away from the arrival airport so that weather will be better than the arrival airport. in the case of volcanic ash, which he probably had to deal with during the mt st helens eruption.so load some alternates, and simulate the volcanic ashjd

Hi jd,Thanks for that reminder.Some of the USA UK flights on wednesday evening USA time bound for UK had to divert many hudreds of miles as a result of a lot of European airspace being closed.Will try some of these flights and see how the fuel pans out.Norman Bowman
