April 15, 201016 yr Maybe Alex or some other kind person will advise on this. I have set up my system with triple views using Alex Reid's methods. http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...=multi+monitorsThis works well in IFR but in VFR I cannot make the forward left and forward right views deep enough to see the runway on downwind and base legs. I have experimented endlessly with the x, y, z values in the panel.cfg and with zoom values but seem stuck with quite a narrow horizontal view to port and starboard. I am using the Australian Simulation payware PA28 Warrior which has two main cockpit panels - IFR and VFR versions selectable by a hotspot on the glareshield. It is impossible to use Alex's method when the IFR panel is up. No matter what x, y, z values and zooms I use I cannot get anywhere near alignment across the three screens. With the VFR panel chosen and a cockpit zoom of 0.82 I can get fair alignment across the three screens but only in a narrowish bands (approx 25% of screen height) on the outer two screens. Am I missing something here or have I reached some sort of end point beyond which further adjustment is impossible?John John
August 14, 201015 yr Hi John, just guessing, but, maby woth giving it a try.... In your main window (the one with the instrument panel) click on the outside view and extend the window down to the bottom of your screen. Could work, as I seem to remember, that I had to do something like that on my multimonitor setup back in the FS-98 days. :)
August 14, 201015 yr Author I tried your idea and fooled around with various settings for a few hours this morning. I still could not get the views to line up. I think the problem is to do with the fact that there are VFR and IFR cockpit views is this plane. Also, the side views seem to be virtual cockpit views. That is why it is not possible to use Alex Reid's method for the default Cessnas. This Aussie plane is not default but I think the various views must be set up the same way.I am giving up on this one! Thanks anyway. John
August 14, 201015 yr Have you considered editing the model file (how to in these forums - Bob Scott's post on the topic is very much to the point)to eliminate the VC? This will allow left-center-right views to line up properly.I did this to the default Cessna and it solved the problem when setting up with WideView.Jim Harnes

I'm not using WideView so I don't know if tweaking the model file would work in my set up. Alex Reid's method uses an in-built facility in XP to run more than one screen off the same program. As far as I know his method only works in FS9, not in FSX. I have forgotten why this is. I have two graphics cards - the first has two outputs feeding the centre and left monitors, the second card feeds the right monitor. It works like a dream for many addon planes - I get approx 120 degree panorama with very little frame rate hit. Alex can coax an even wider field of view out of his set up. I will check out Bob Scott's post but editing the model file is probably beyond my limited skills. If I have any success I will post again here. John
