Featured Replies

i have a problem with the md-11 crash mid-flight i received fsx fatal error message and flight sim restarts itself, ive tried many different things including re-installing the md-11, installing directx, updating microsoft flight sim to the latest version, and removing the mission panels file, yet nothing seems to work it happens randomly i sometimes manage to fly for an hour and sometimes for 15 minutes but its always when the plane is in the air any help is appreciated and im running this on windows vista

Hello, Please sign your full name to posts in this forum per forum rules, thanks. What do you windows event logs say? There should be something in the application logs of whatever the faulting module is that's causing your crash. To access your event logs. Click the windows start button, right click My Computer and choose Manage. In the left hand side of the Computer management window that opens, expand "Windows Logs", then highlight Application.

fsx.exe10.0.61472.0475e17d3unknown0.0.0.000000000c00000050000000056001cade68acb1d913this is what i got i dont know if it helps much

Faulting application fsx.exe, version 10.0.61472.0, time stamp 0x475e17d3, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000, process id 0x560, application start time 0x01cade68acb1d913.

I hate when the event logs only state fsx.exe. Not much to go on here. I would say try to copy your fsx.cfg to a new location for backup and then start fsx and let it rebuild a new one and see how that goes.

The common culprit with FSX crash on load is the dll.xml file, but a crash after flying for an hour or two is much harder to pinpoint. The only known problem is related to using the FMS arrivals/approaches revisions with an error in the flight plan. Otherwise, you need to see if you are having a hardware problem. Also, look at the thread pinned in the general section about using the HIGHMEMFIX statement in your config file.

hey thanks for the responses, i cant find the fsx.cfg file tho im not all that great with computers so a little pointer as to where the file is would be appreciated, ill try that HIGHMEMFIX see if that does anything

Depends on your OS. Try looking under your username app data roaming microsoft fsx....

Also the app data folder maybe hidden so you need to go into folder options and unhide folders.

i tried deleting the fsx.cfg but no go.. also i noticed the same thing happens with pmdg's 747-400 any other suggestions?

Try the HIGHMEMFIX solution yet? Do you have 32b or 64b?

disable DEP in windows command line, search google for instructions
