April 18, 201016 yr I have a copy of Radar Contact 4, version RC43-02-08-01.zip. I attempted to install the product on a new computer that uses Windows 7 Pro64 as its OS. I install the producted requested the key via email and everything seemed to be ok. Started FS9 and loaded a fly plan but things didn't work quite right. The red dialog box within FS9 appeared but I was unable to receive either weather or clearance. I am certain that I mess up up somewhere in the post installation phase. Prior to my first flight do I need to regenerate the the DB files? Also I have a purchased copy of FSUIPC, what parameters do I need to set? When I attempted to update the DB files I kept receieving a path error. I believe that I had admin rights during the installation, do I need to have those same rights to update the DB files? Is there anything other requirements that I need to be aware during installation and setup?Note: On my old XP based computer everything perfectly, so I am rather certain that if RC4 is capiable of operating in 64 bit environment that my problems are due to my errorsThanksTom
April 18, 201016 yr Hi Tom,Win 7 can cause you lots of problems unless you use your admin righys when you load programs. In the properties box it you open compatability you can then tick the box which grants admin rights to the program which you have just installed.Ronzie ,in another post was advising simmers to not use the D:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftGames\FSX structure but to use instead the D:\MicrosoftGames\FSX structure and to aply that for all FS programs.I use the latter on my Win 7 \FS9 installation and all works well.Hope that this is of use.Norman Bowman Norman Bowman
